It’s shaping up to be a great Saturday in downtown Hazard.

From fresh produce and local vendors at the Mother’s Day Pop-Up Market, to handmade goods at the Queen City Artisan Festival, and wrapping up the day with Cruisin’ on Main… there’s something for everyone.

Grab the family, spend some time downtown, and support the folks who help make Hazard special. by @hazardkygov

🎉 What a weekend! 🎉

We’ve wrapped up another successful Black Gold Festival, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and heart of so many people.

A big THANK YOU to the Black Gold Festival Committee, our Police, Fire, and EMS teams, vendors, small businesses, and the entire community for coming together to make this year’s festival fun, safe, and memorable. 💛🖤

Special thanks to our city employees who were up early this morning to ensure that downtown is clean and ready for another busy week.

You have heard of Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, but do you know about Pink Weekend?

Pink Weekend is the weekend BEFORE Black Friday and it is a time to spend your money at local small businesses. Pink Friday is a national boutique event aimed at keeping dollars local before spending at big box stores. We thought, why stop at just boutiques and why just Friday, let's do it for the whole weekend!

We have 21 businesses joining together to offer great deals and giveaways the weekend of November 17th and 18th! Get your shopping done early and local this year by coming out to Pink Weekend!

If you visit 10+ businesses you can be entered to win one of 3 baskets valued at over $350 each filled with goods from your local stores. If you visit 15+ businesses you can win one of these baskets AND a hotel stay at Hampton Inn and $100 towards your favorite local restaurant sponsored by Hazard Perry County Tourism Commission, and a charcuterie board from Hazard Charcuterie Company.

And it doesn't stop there! Hazard Perry County Tourism has also sponsored transportation on Saturday between 10 am and 6 pm! There will be drinks and snacks on a bus that will drive you while you shop! And every bit of this is free!

We will be posting the list of businesses, baskets, and deals and giveaways over the next two weeks to be sure to keep checking here and the Discover Hazard pages for details.

So plan to shop local this year and shop Pink Weekend!

Join us for A Haunting in Hazard, a self guided ghost story and folklore tour in downtown Hazard. We have partnered with @hiteart and WSGS Radio to bring you shadow representations of local stories recorded by local story tellers and produced by WSGS. You can start anywhere downtown and scan a QR code to hear the stories and see the map of the locations. At each location you can collect a tarot card of the tale. Collect all 13! See you on October 27th from 6:30-9!
