Hi, I’m Hazel—the artist behind Hazel-Dawn Illustrations 🎨💕

I’m a one-woman creative studio based in Shropshire UK, where I design everything from personalized pet portraits to children’s book illustrations and thoughtful gifts like mugs, tote bags, and keepsakes. All of my artwork is original, hand-drawn, and made with care to spark joy, celebrate love, and raise awareness—especially around chronic illness, which is a cause close to my heart.

You’ll often find me working from home with my fluffy shadow by my side—Teddy, my adorable Cockapoo 🐶✨
Teddy is more than just a companion—he’s my support system, occasional snuggle buddy, and he helps me manage my daily life with chronic illness. You’ll see his little face pop up a lot in my work and behind-the-scenes posts!

Creating art isn’t just my job—it’s how I connect, communicate, and create a little light in the world, one illustration at a time. 💗 Whether it's a tiny memorial bottle to honour a beloved pet or a joyful custom portrait, everything I make comes from the heart.

🐕‍🦺🧡 A little sign that made a HUGE difference during our hospital stay! 🧡🐾

During our long hospital admission, this beautiful personalised door sign from @hazeldawnillustrations was an absolute lifesaver! 🥹❤️

Having an assistance dog in hospital comes with its own challenges, especially when staff are constantly coming in and out of your room.

This sign helped remind everyone that Oberon was inside and to please knock before entering, giving us a little warning before someone came through the door.

As someone who struggles with hospital stays, unexpected interruptions can be incredibly overwhelming, so something as simple as a knock made such a difference to both of us. 🧡

It’s the little things that can make hospital life that bit easier, and I’m so grateful we had this!

A massive thank you to @hazeldawnillustrations for creating something so personal, practical and special. 🥹🐻

“I draw pet portraits using photos as reference, and turn them into physical products. I absolutely do not use AI in my work and hate the thought of it ruining mine and other small businesses. With me you get genuine hand drawn digital drawings.”

🩵 What makes you not use AI?

“I see more value in art produced by artists who spend time learning their craft. It makes them more unique and more special than ones generated by a program. I don’t like the move to AI rather than commissioning an artist who could do exactly what your looking for, in there own unique style”
