I’m a few months late on this post, but I loved this @bigfootpoetryfestival team so much. This team came together last minute, and our performances ripped.

Harp and I went straight from competing in @midwestpoetrymashup to competing in Bigfoot, and I was pretty exhausted, but I could listen to them perform the their poems over and over again in practices and competitions, and their poems would never get old to me. Hearing their poems always gives me life. This team has so many of my favorite Portland poets on it, and I’m honestly in awe that every person I asked to be a part of this team said yes. I love these people, and I love this team. Thanks for every edit, every ride home, and everything y’all taught me about competing and running a team. Loud and Proud Forever.

Also thanks to @lightbulbchris for the photos of us in our denim :)

Group photos from @midwestpoetrymashup 2026! Incredibly grateful for my teammates. They make me a better artist and a better person. Always so glad to see old friends too (both pictured and not). This is my fourth year here, and the community that @ollieschminkey has built has changed my life. I’m gonna keep coming back to Minneapolis.

Special thanks for Ollie, @gach_zoldberg , @taneshanicole313 , @jhhartzer , and @ejschoenborn for the work they put into organizing this regional competition every year. And special thanks to Neil for building the community that created this team and doing that group piece with me :)

Let’s keep on doing this for as long as we can :) by @hazelthebard

This is coming really late cause this show starts in an hour and a half, but I’m so proud to be a part of this amazing group of poets that I’m posting it anyway. Tonight from 5pm-7pm at the Barrel Room, you will get to see all these poets perform for a fundraiser for the @bigfootpoetryfestival and @thepeoplespoets Black History Month Showcase!! Portland has such an unbelievably talented scene, and I’m grateful to the people who come out to support it. I love this place. See y’all soon ❤️‍🔥 taken in Barrel Room Portland by @hazelthebard

Here we go again. Portland’s 2025 Indie Grand Slam is ONLY THREE HOURS AWAY!!! Portland’s slam scene is on FIRE right now, and I highly recommend changing your plans or inventing time travel in order to be there. Everyone in this slam is an absolute All-Star, and it will be worth it.

I love these people so much, and I’m so proud of them. The 3rd Annual Midwest Mashup Poetry Competition was a success in every way. I’m so proud of both @poetrybysoup teams, and I’m especially proud of my team “Hot n Sour” for making it to Finals for the first time ever!!!! It was an honor to share the Finals stage with Mac Slams, Buck Slam, and Boston Poetry Slam!! All teams I admire and look up to. Thanks to Ollie, Zach, Taneisha, Nat, James, EJ, Kyle, and more for putting this event together and making everything happen. And as always, a special thanks to @neilicorn . My family exists because of you, and for that, I owe you a sandwich forever and always. I hope we do this until the sun goes out ❤️‍🔥

Tonight, I am performing at the barrel room with Team 3!!
Performances start at 7:30!!
Please come through to support this fundraiser!! All proceeds to go @bigfootregionalslam !!!
I will be eating a bunch of hot sauce before performing a poem!! That will either be fun or ridiculous, either way: worth the price of admission.
I fucking love the Portland Poetry scene, and I’m so lucky to perform with these people! Some of my favorite poets in the scene :)) Check it out if you got the time!
