@geremiah.band 's latest release dropped on Mother's Day (in keeping with the EPs themes). It's a rare treat to work with an artist with as strong of a vision of these guys. Every little move seems to have purpose, from the notes on the Bass VI, to the changes in tone, to the dynmaic shifts in the mix (enacted by me but guided by their vision). This EP features some of my best work as recording a mix engineer, so be sure to check it out! Mastered by @audiosiege by @hazelwood.audio

I'm late to the party! @aseitas.official 's most recent unholy offering, Eden trough, released this summer. I had the distinct pleasure of taking the helm for guitar and bass tracking, which we recorded at full volume in my house. Two amps at a time was the name of the game for each distorted guitar layer. I found the right balance, combination, and placement of mics from my personal arsenal for each amp. This was definitely the most intense and meticulous guitar tracking I've ever done, but the results speak for themselves. Pick up a copy from the band's bandcamp! Thanks to @connorreising for a fucking killer mix & drum recording ( tracked at @thehallowedhallspdx ) and to @audiosiege for elevating everything with his mastering wizardy

Shoot me an email or fill out the contact form in my bio if you want the guitars on you're next album to be as beastly as these!

This was the most fun I've hard working sound for @concatenatefest and the best sound we've had yet! The compliments are appreciated 😝!!! Turns out having fully functional and (sort-of) modern (is 2006 modern?) Mixing board helps, but also so has working shows regularly for the past few years. Many thanks to @moet_the_poet_official for taking over in the moments where I drifted from the desk and for supporting the whole operation with a second set of experienced ears and amusing sound effects. Thanks to Byran for having us all out there for the several years and to all the fans for tolerating the Air Horns and unusual house music selections. Special thanks to the HIGHLY awesome hommies who moved their camp at midnight Thursday so I could have my favourite "De-stium" camp spot by the creek.

I'll be back in Pe Ell "Next Door" at @redhawkavalon for @woodlandfortressfest in a fee weeks.

See you all again for concatenate 2028!! by @hazelwood.audio

I finished up recording on the @transhardcore record just before the end of 2024! There were so many great projects last year, including an album from @geremiah.band and @astickandastone (both yet to be released). I'm looking forward to more this year! Here are a few pics from last year and beyond. If you're looking for a recording studio or producer in PDX to help you record or mix your next heavy, experimental, noisey, or atmospheric record, then get in touch. I want to help you make YOUR record the best that it can be and have fun doing it! Reach out through my contact form (in bio) for rates! (I may not respond to DMs).

Extreme metal act @crystalarium_band will be releasing live recording compendium ‘Alchemical Mutations’ digitally and on cassette this Friday.

Formed amidst the frigid underground of Boston, Massachusetts, Crystalarium has evolved through two releases and several transformations. Now, reborn in the verdant musical tapestry of Portland, Oregon, the Crystalarians present ‘Alchemical Mutations’ as a testament to their reformation. This collection features six previously released tracks, recorded with minimal editing to authentically capture the band’s live essence today.
