We have some new faces and it’s been a while since I’ve done a proper introduction! To kick off this anniversary week, let me start by saying “Hi! I’m Hajnal (high-null.)” 👋

Haziko started 5 years ago in the height of the pandemic as a creative outlet and a way to support sustainable practice at home. As we slide into our 5th year of existence, here are 5 fun facts about me:

🗺️I love to travel and have been to 16 countries and 5 continents.

🐓🐕 I not-so-secretly want to live on a farm someday and currently have a tiny urban homestead with a front yard garden, 3 dogs, & 4 chickens.

🍹🍸I STILL love Real Housewives and recently took a deep dive into the Rhode Island franchise.

📚I’m perpetually curious and love to keep learning — I know a little about A LOT of things and am probably a master of none. 😝

👯‍♀️👯‍♀️While Haziko is my baby, there are lots of people behind-the-scenes who help me keep things moving. You’ll likely come across @crookedrivervintage @hatchlingcle @globits_at_home & @kvtabor helping me sling goods at markets around town!

✨COMING SOON✨This blank slate is the site of our very first physical space. Starting mid-November, you’ll be able to shop our goods @americasantiquemallstreetsboro ! Stay tuned over the next couple of weeks as we paint, build, and style this space into a new home for Haziko. 🏡🧼🔨

This weekend we visited our old stomping grounds in Atlanta, and popped into some new-to-us antique shops and an old favorite! Most of these places were Midtown/ east and are worth a visit if you have a few hours to spare. 🍑

1. Antiques and Beyond - we visited on a post-hurricane rainy day so the outside area was closed, but the outdoor furniture and yard knick knacks looked so fun! The interior features four-ish buildings full of eclectic antique and vintage dealers at a variety of price points.

2. Ponce City Market is a series of warehouses revitalized into shops and food. While it’s mostly new retail, there are some vintage and small businesses sprinkled in and overall it’s a very fun shopping experience right on the city’s Beltline.

3. One of our old favorites is Kudzu, a bit farther east in Decatur. It’s been rebranded as “vintage and modern” so there’s a combo of old and new, but we always love the slightly funky and folky flair of this place.

4. For some inspiration, we popped into the High Museum of Art, which is free to the public the second Sunday of each month.

You can have a spooktastic Halloween by adding a few small low-cost or no-cost options, or by using what you already have around the house!

Prop up some old branches or plop them in a vase in front of a vintage mirror. (This gorgeous set-up was @_millermanor .)

I’m traveling this week and got to explore some of Indianapolis’ vintage! While I wish I had more time (and more space in my luggage,) this place was definitely worth a visit!

*How many times can I say the words “thing” or “thingie”? (A LOT.)

I had a much-needed girls’ weekend away near the New River Gorge National Park and it was perfection!

1-3: Stay: @hillhallhotel , a new hotel built in the old local high school. The rooms & the restaurant, Patsy’s, are 😘👌
4-5: Fayetteville, WV has many cute little vintage shops, especially if you’re on the hunt for vintage clothing!
6: @rangefindercoffee is excellent + great vibes!
7: Cutest little town
8-9: We did a number of short hikes— Endless Wall Trail was a fav.

One of the best part of doing markets is getting to see all the goodies my fellow vendors bring and shopping for myself! This past weekend I was able to check off some things I’ve searched for over many months. (Peep Shop Assistant Henry at the end, who is also very excited about the final purchase.)

Talk about revitalizing retail space….when you mix in the excellent hostess-ing of @sugaraccessoriesvintage , a gorgeous space in @legacy village, and 25+ of Cleveland’s best vintage vendors, you get a magical weekend full of community & GREAT curation.

While our feet are tired, our hearts are full! 💙 Thank you.
