Summa Cum Laude, praise God🙏🏽

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever🙌🏽. 1 Chronicles 16:34. I could write a book on how good the Lord has been to me not only throughout my journey at Alabama A&M, but throughout my life in general. What a blessing it is to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.

Thank you to everyone who I crossed paths with, for I’m sure you helped shape me in some form or fashion. Thank you to my family for guiding me through my big girl transition from high school to college. Last but certainly not least, thank you to my village♾️! Y’all have helped and molded me in more ways than you know. I can confidently say that the woman I am today is a reflection of all of you.

Yesterday, at 3 pm, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University with honors. All glory be to God🙏🏽. I cannot wait to see what God has in store for me next. It was fun, A&M💋!

A TRUE HBCU Legacy🐶

A full circle moment. Legacy is much more than just a word to me. It’s the path that comes before you and the one you leave after, representing a long lasting impact or a footprint for others to follow. It is with great honor and respect that I get to follow my dad’s🙏🏽.

Standing here with you 4 years later after you gave me my first unofficial tour means everything and more. You always talk about how “I don’t know how to sit down” but I got it from you. Your tenacity, wisdom, resilience, and pride is what I carry with me daily. Thank you for teaching me the pride and purpose of being a true Bulldog before I even knew the meaning, and thank you for building the foundation that I now get to continue. After 3 kids you finally got your A&M Graduate, and of course I’m the favorite🤣.

A Love Sincere and Rare🪞

The Phirst premier Greek Letter organization for African American women, the Phinest Sorority to ever exist, and the only Standard to uphold. Following in my mother’s footsteps and joining Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is easily one of the best decisions of my life. To be surrounded by likeminded women who uphold the mission of being of Service to All Mankind and who always strive to become something bigger is a blessing🙏🏽.

To the Gorgeous Gamma Mu Chapter💚, you have definitely left a lasting impression on me. The perseverance, legacy, hard work, and dedication instilled in this chapter is unwavering. To contribute to the growth and wellbeing of an organization and its members is an honor that I don’t take lightly. Throughout my tenure as VP and President, my hope is that you all continue to Soar to Greater Heights and make room for the spaces you were called to be in.

To 70 K.I., my sistasss🩷! Boy the journey we’ve had. I wouldn’t trade y’all for the world. I can’t wait to see what we do in the future because I know it will all be great things. Thank you for showing me what it means to be a sister and speaking life into me when I couldn’t find the words for myself.

To my 11 SSS, LORD- I love y’all so deep🫂! Words cannot express my gratitude and sincere appreciation for our sisterhood. Through the tears, laughs, arguments, and constant dance battles- I don’t know what to speak on first, but I know I would do it all over again in every lifetime. You definitely made my college experience everything and more and I will forever cherish the bond that we share. Please know that y’all can never get rid of me and that our kids will be besties!

To my Neos, my K.H.A.O.S. in the midst of the storm, know I never played about y’all💯. Please cherish every moment with each other and every moment of undergrad. Love on each other, learn from your mistakes, and protect the perpetuity of our Chapter. I have no doubt that you all will uphold the legacy that is Gamma Mu and carry it with grace. I love y’all phorever and always, continue to make me proud!

People often ask what I would have chosen if not Political Science, and the truth is, I’ve never had an answer. This path chose me just as much as I chose it, and I am nothing short of grateful. What started as an interest, has grown into a true purpose of advocacy. The longing to advocate for minorities and underrepresented communities fuels the passion behind my aspirations of ultimately becoming an attorney.

To my professors, thank you. Thank you for your patience, your guidance, and your belief in me when I sometimes didn’t believe in myself. Though our major may be small, the love, support, and dedication within it are immeasurable. Thank you for honing my skills, challenging me to grow, and opening doors to opportunities I could only dream of.

As I step into this next chapter with intention and faith, I know that every move I make is building toward something greater. It may not be instant, but I trust the timing God has for me🎓.
