<Green Sun : Object 2>
<Green Sun : Fruit and Vegetable>

<Green Sun>
Ah, it’s hot, burning, scorching hot! Every single day, without fail, the sun rises, disappears, and rises again. I feel as if I am being flattened, slowly drying out. It's so hot! In stark contrast, the trees are indifferently colossal. Unable to look directly at the sun, what I see instead are heaps of green vegetation—round and pointy green masses. They are bigger than me. The hot, massive, green sun offers no shade. It only flattens me.

Ele apenas me achata.

납작해지게 한다. taken in Barreiro, Portugal by @hb4god

Hannah Bang is an interdisciplinary artist working across video, painting, performance, and installation. Her work investigates the vulnerability of human existence and our innate longing for belonging. Diving into a 1st-person survival perspective, she explores human consciousness not through standardized societal systems, but through the raw synchronicity of simply existing together. By examining numbers (time), area (space), and adhesion (collisions), she visualizes the silent solidarity of sharing a timeline. She observes how we glue together shaking, unofficial events through the shared promise of a “being,” finding ways to overcome the oblivion of existence or simply, remembering to breathe.

Hannah Bang @hb4god is an interdisciplinary artist based in New York City and South Korea. Her work spans video, painting, performance, and installation, focusing on the exploration and presentation of human consciousness.

Born in South Korea in 1998, Hannah has lived and worked across Savannah, Atlanta, New York, and South Korea, moving through different cities, residencies, and communities. In the interview, she describes her artistic journey as something tied to destiny, shaped not by a fixed plan, but by the unfolding of life itself.

Her works often begin with images, moving visuals, or sentences that arrive suddenly and cannot be ignored. To bring them into reality, Hannah invests her life, time, emotions, conversations, and material conditions. This process leads her practice across multiple media, moving between documentation and lived experience.

For Hannah, experience leaves behind traces, and documentation emerges through the decisions of the artist as an editor: choosing what to write down, what to erase, and how to give form to what remains. Through her work, she hopes viewers encounter the visible diversity of human existence and share a moment of breathing together.
