Meet the Team: DJ Da2s - DJ & Guest Lecturer

Dominican Republic in the house! 🇩🇴🇩🇴

DJ Da2s experiences music as a way to connect people, awaken emotions and transform any event into an unforgettable party. With a high-energy, versatile and Latin-infused sound, he brings music to weddings, private celebrations, corporate events and clubs in Finland. At every performance he gives his all to create a vibrant, elegant and lively atmosphere.

In addition to spinning the hottest tracks of the Caribbean at our parties, DJ Da2s will also be holding a lecture on the history and roots of bachata and Dominican music and dance traditions.

Meet the Team: Vane (Teacher & Organizer) - Bachata

Vane is a performer, dancer, choreographer and dance teacher. Since 2017 she holds a BA in Dance
Performance from Stockholm University of the Arts. In 2018 Vane was introduced to bachata in the
Dominican Republic and fell immediately in love with the authentic style and vibe! Throughout the years
she has travelled back to Dominican Republic several times to learn the more about the culture and movement of bachata.

In the DR Vane encountered konpa and is currently very excited about learning more!

Vane has been teaching dance from jazz to hip-hop and ballet to children’s dance for nearly twenty years in Finland. In 2020, she established the @queerlatindance_hki project, where she teaches weekly classes of Dominican bachata and Cuban casino.

At the moment Vane works as a choreographer and performer with the @_out_of_sync_ drag-king boy band and also teaches classes and organizes dance events.

Meet the Team: Janita (Teacher) - Konpa

Janita Ilona is a Finnish-born Konpa instructor. Since 2021, her mission is to spread joy and accurate
information about konpa in Europe while honoring its Haitian roots.

She is the founder of @konpassion, the first Konpa school in the Netherlands, offering weekly classes,
bootcamps, parties, performance and teacher training.

Janita has trained under and worked with renowned Haitian instructors and collectives such as @danseselectcanada, @dadyandmanuela, @robensondancehaiti, @lovyc and @wikotr. She has a decade of experience in dance instruction, and prior to konpa she focused on kizomba and commercial dances.

Her classes focus on technique, confidence, and expression, helping dancers grow in both solo and partnerwork. Through her work, Janita continues to build a vibrant, inclusive Konpa community across Europe.
