James is a senior guard for @hchawkshoops whom we got to cover during the @newjerseylegacy Get In/Get Out showcase.

James had a nice showing without forcing it offensively. He picked his spots to create and was a threat off the ball. He can operate in P&R situations, looking for mismatches he can exploit.

On one possession, he got the switch he wanted with a bigger defender and he blew right by him, finishing a tough contested layup. James also displayed the ability to boogie off the dribble, get a paint touch, and knock down a turnaround jumper over his right shoulder. He also showed his soft touch on a broken play, where he hit a floater from a step inside the free-throw line.

James is also a threat from beyond the arc. He connected on multiple three-pointers, connecting on one corner three off the catch with movement and another catch-and-shoot from the top.

During the @newjerseylegacy Get In/Get Out showcase, we covered a dogfight matchup between @rc.basketball and @hchawkshoops.

Hudson Catholic came out ready to play and brought an intensity that a young Roselle team wasn’t ready for. Hudson forced turnovers and got out in transition where they finished with dunks and layups. They also had it going early from beyond the arc, connecting on multiple three-pointers from different spots on the floor. They’ll gain an early lead but it was never secure as Roselle continued to cut the lead.

Coming off a tough loss by a large margin to Gil St. Bernard, Roselle had no plans on losing twice. In the second half, they had their shot falling from three and put pressure on the rim. They would consistently draw contact at the rim and capitalize on their free throws to cut the lead. However, a lack of awareness of where their feet were on the floor led to multiple turnovers from stepping out of bounds.

With time not on their side, Roselle was forced to send Hudson to the line, where they sealed the deal at the free throw line winning 48-42.
