Hi everyone, 👋🏾

Just wanted to quickly introduce myself to ya’ll.

I am a local Tucson photographer in love with our dry desert and I enjoy snapping photos of anything living. My passion for photography started when I was young, all I wanted to do was have stunning photos of cactus and our surrounding mountains. 🏜️ Slowly I’ve been shifting to portraiture, events, and documentary photography, telling a story is the goal.

I’m always looking to expand my portfolio and collaborate with anyone that is as crazy as I am. Thanks for taking the time to read this! 📸

There’s something about street photography…

All the stories in one place. I recently visited New York City and while walking through Central Park I noticed this family capturing memories through the children’s eyes. The two daughters taking Polaroids of their parents.

Then you have the lady on the bench to the right minding her own business, probably doing her daily reading in the park.

And lastly, the friends walking together on the left. Both enjoying the same views the two daughters are capturing with their parents.

Zoom in, explore, and see how it all comes together. HCortez Media, street photography, documentary, New York, New York life, Central Park, female photographer, telling stories taken in Central Park Manhatan by @hcortezmedia

“Que bonito fue coincidir contigo
en este mundo tan inmenso.

Porque entre millones de caminos,
la vida decidió cruzarnos
y regalarme la oportunidad
de conocerte.

Y desde entonces, hasta los días simples
tienen algo especial.

Como si tu presencia
hubiera aprendido
a llenar de luz
todo lo que toca.”

“… who am I to question the divine design?
Sometimes it feels like every time my heart break, everyone around smiles ‘cause they’re about to get paid…”
- Jessie Reyez -

Self portraits have always been a process of exploring. Figuring out who I am. Putting together forgotten pieces. And every time they look a little less broken.

Learning to express yourself as an artist is never easy. I’ve always found pieces of myself in poetry and lyrics, as if someone else had already written what I was trying to understand.
