LADIES NIGHT: There is a phenomenal bookshop in Edinburgh called @rarebirdsbooks that features only women writers, and last night they hosted a sold-out crowd for WORKHORSE, which included me finally meeting fellow writer @hdarwent who was the ideal interviewer—and backstage chat. Enormous thank you to shop owner @rachelwouldnt for your support and thanks the to motley crew who trotted over to the Raeburn for the afters—never such a group was thee @kellykilpatrick by @hdarwent

Yesteryear by @caroclaireburke . My favourite book of the year so far .

I went in, like many others, not knowing what to expect. I'm always wary of anything about social media as I think it's really hard to get right.

Yes, this book is about that but also, the social media aspect slides away perfectly without you really noticing it was really only there as a beautiful device.

Underneath is something bigger and tbh stranger and more intriguing. The twist is perfect; the voice is divine and horrible and shouty. All the stars, no notes.

Under the Hammer by @samanthadooeymiles was SUCH a fun read. We meet Jemma who embarks on a mission to rid the world of landlords. I laughed out loud so many times - just many, many funny scenes, great observations, and it's set in Hamilton where I've spent quite a bit of time recently, so I liked that a lot.

One thing that stood out to me with this book was the brilliant dialogue - the way the characters spoke to each other was laced with grotesque wit, sarcasm and just really funny vibes. Out now with @verve_books
