A lil about me and my work. Right now, in this moment in time. Because just as wind transforms into a wave, I too am in motion. Living, breathing, learning and growing. I occupy this IG space with the intention to build community, and ultimately, to wonder together, how we might move towards healing our amnesia of interdependence.

Thank you for wondering with me 🪶
Sending love across the landscapes ♥️

We are relational creatures. We exist because of our connections, not in spite of. To be needy is to be human. So take the risk, reach out your hand, and softly lean on those around you. It may get messy, there may be misunderstandings, but again and again return to the medicine of relationship. Lean into and be leaned on. Steady yourself and in doing so steady others. And in this mutuality, the symbiotic growth, we uplift one another, we evolve, we generate health and adaptability for our children and grandchildren. We rise together.

Learning to trust in the midst of uncertainty is a super power.

The New Year can bring up a lot of wondering- where am I going, what have I accomplished, what do I want more of? All a reflection on the DOING of life. These are wonderful inquiries. Yet it’s important, and powerful, to practice trusting the unfolding. To find your breath, become present, and build strength in your body - even when you feel lost, confused, or moving through the endless transitions of life. This practice is about finding your roots.

So let’s ground in the present moment, whatever that may hold, and find safety in all the uncertainty. As we approach a new year, get sturdy in your body first. With roots of trust we can move towards what we care about.

close your eyes and listen to this, connecting together in the wilderness of life.

Your body is constantly collecting data from your internal organs—your heart beat, shallow breathing, gut biome, and more—and this information is carried up to the brain where thoughts are generated. Your body’s sensations heavily influence your mood, anxiety levels, and emotional state before you even consciously realize it!

Sensations are the seeds of your thoughts.
And Learning the language of your body intercepts pain, worry, or fear at the root, and allows you to choose your responses to life.

Our online embodied mindfulness membership has been gathering for 6 years. Join our community, embody your life. Link in bio.

Breathing with the trees- so simple yet absolutely awe inspiring.

My work is built from the understanding (informed by the latest research and clinical work with thousands of people) that the problem underlying stress, anxiety, fear, and disembodiment is what I call the amnesia of interdependence.

And the path home: to healthy relationships, families, communities, and societies, is a neurobiological remembering.

I would love to connect— check out my link in bio for ways to learn more 🙏🏼

A paramount shift for all of us. We have generationally passed down a “right” way to be, it has infiltrated our schools, medical systems, and families. Losing touch with our inherent intelligence and biodiversity. It is up to all of us to deconstruct and un-learn these internalized perspectives. Shifting to the lens of adaptation.

See my previous reel, I talk a bit more about it.

These are entirely my words.

Mid-life says: “retrieve all the tools you have collected my friend, we are setting sail again!”
Mid-life seems to ask us, in no uncertain terms, integrate. To hold all the aspects of ourselves in this one vessel. And cross the halfway threshold.

To hold our soft vulnerable and messy alongside the courageous strength.

To hold gently who I was, who I am, and who I am becoming. Each a beautiful iteration.

To trust the unfolding. And realize the journey is still very much underway!

Attending my 20 year college reunion evoked all sorts of aspects: pride, joy, belly laughing alongside grief, doubt, uncertainty, and…gratitude. How can all be true at once?

This seems like the stretch of midlife. Our bodies like widening rings of a tree holding more and more truths— releasing the confines of either/or and realizing that we are living, breathing, beings dancing with life.

And so with reverence, and breathing into the ventricles of my heart, I settle. I am here now, and I am on my way.

Nothing is static, as Rumi beautifully says: you are not a drop in the ocean, you are the entire ocean in one drop.“

The light in me
sees the light in you
We are drops from the same ocean
Namaste

Dear white community, let’s participate in the unraveling of shame and guilt— and consistently acknowledge the systems of oppression we stand upon. Share about it with your kids. We can do this. Acknowledgement and accountability are woven with forgiveness and friendship.
