After a 2 year hiatus from the brand, i finally found myself back to creating for headed. For those of you that don’t know or forgot, i stepped away from headed sometime in 2023/2024 to focus on going back to school. I will say, it wasn’t easy to put everything you build aside for 2 years let alone coming back to the brand after 2 years. Although we did smaller drops and worked on side projects, it kept me sane. The 3 years wasn’t easy, went from telling folks about the brand to not wanting to tell them about it at the same time. It was like a secret operation 😂 I finally graduated college and sort of lost my motivation to keep the brand pushing.but everyone kept asking me “what’s the next move for headed? Whens the next drop? Are you done with headed? ARE YOU STILL ALIVE?!?” SOOOOO, here it is! Actually, not quite yet. taken in California by @headedapparel

On May 6, I got to be part of something really big on campus, Innovation Fest. What started as a class project turned into an actual pop up market for student entrepreneurs. My idea was based around how students with brands/businesses don’t really have a space on campus to showcase themselves outside of their usual circles. I came up with the idea of bringing a pop up market to campus so student entrepreneurs could promote their brands, connect with people, and gain exposure. Huge shoutout to Professor Izzet D. for really pushing me to believe in the idea and take it further than just a classroom assignment. When he asked me to present the idea to UPClub, I was TERRIFIED 😭 Public speaking, social anxiety, overthinking everything… but I said fuck it, what do I really have to lose? Next thing you know, UP Club gave us space to make it happen at Innovation Fest. Between planning the pop up, finding vendors, and juggling hella other presentations while just tryna graduate 😭 I was stressed. But honestly, I couldn’t have done any of this without the UP Club team guiding me through the process and helping me build confidence along the way. Proper shoutout to Hanzalah, Nandini, Teki, and Ruben from UP Club for believing in me and helping me every step of the way bringing this to idea to life. (I felt like I may or may not have spammed them along the way) 😭 Big shoutouts to Professor Izzet for buying 15 hoodies from headed to give away to students who placed top 3 during the festival. That really meant more than anything in the world. A professor going out his way to support his students, it’s very rare to come across that. Lastly, shoutout to Elvin from @slipperyslope_society for doing this event with me. Even though we both felt out of place surrounded by all the tech and AI startups, we still showed up, connected with people, and made an impact. I’m Proud of us fr 🫶🏼 OH PFTTTT & shoutouts to all the students, panelists, and founders I’ve met through the event and those that bought some merch! Y’all are goated !
