Behind the scenes at another successful GCSE results day for our Year 11 leavers.
It was brilliant to see so many smiley faces. We hope you've all achieved the grades you need to move onto the next stage of your life, be that college or an apprenticeship.
Hopefully, we will see you again on Thursday 19th November at your awards ceremony. In the meantime, enjoy the last of your summer break, and all the best for your new ventures!

🚌 Community Partnership in Action! 🚌

We run a wide range of school trips across the region, particularly those designed to ensure our pupils have access to a world-class careers experience. We couldn’t do this without the support of our fantastic local business partners.

Today, our Year 7 students visited Grimsby Town FC as part of the Run With It Programme. Our Careers Lead, Mr Hoey, presented Rachel from Grimsby Minibuses with a small thank-you plaque to recognise everything the team does to transport our students safely to these amazing opportunities.

A massive thank you to Dave Clarke and the entire team at Grimsby Minibuses Ltd for your continued support and dedication in helping our students take their first steps towards the world of work. 🤝✨

This morning, some of our Year 7 pupils had a trip to Blundell Park with Careers lead, Mr Hoey, courtesy of @runwithithull.
Working in partnership with this amazing local charity and Grimsby Town Football Club, our pupils explored the world of work whilst applying their Maths and English skills in real life settings. The pupils took to it straight away and we cannot wait for the next session!

Young People Voices in National Careers Initiative

Yesterday we welcomed Lee Douglas, Strategic Careers Hub Lead for Greater Lincolnshire to Healing Academy.
Lee came in to meet Lucy in Year 10 who has just joined the Careers and Enterprise Company Youth Advisory Panel. Lucy will represent the young people in this area and we have no doubt that her insights will drive change. We look forward to seeing the impact of this partnership.

A Busy Few Months For Aniyah and Spirit!

Partially sighted Year 8 pupil, Aniyah and her buddy dog Spirit, have had a busy couple of months.

They attended a development day in London with UK showdown team. This is the National blind sports squad, who compete in fast paced table game sports.
Last week Aniyah and Spirit attended the BBC Radio Humberside 'Make a Difference Awards' in Hull.

We are proud to announce that Spirit was runner-up!
Also recently, Aniyah and her team, the East Riding Rattlesnakes, played against the Sheffield Strikers.

Aniyah has enjoyed all 3 events and her confidence is certainly growing. To be the youngest player in the UK by several years is just amazing. Aniyah is 13 and everyone else is aged in their 20's and above.

This is all possible thanks to the amazing girl Spirit, Aniyahs sports coach and captain of the blind England football team Roy Turnham and to Healing Academy.
Aniyah is hoping to gain a career in the sports industry and as well as playing sports, she is also learning to help/ coach others in blind sports.

Construction Superstars

Last week, we took 40 Year 10 students to the largest construction event in the region at Lincolnshire Showground. All our students excelled and got fully involved in every activity. Three students stood out for their superb efforts and received a High Performance Game Plan book today:

Max showed impressive maturity and fabulous communication skills throughout the day, excelling in his work alongside Kier Construction.

Charlie achieved one of the highest scores in the welding workshop, demonstrating an exemplary attitude and commitment at every station.

Charlotte was the star welder of the day! Competing against hundreds of pupils from across the region, Charlotte scored the highest mark for her free weld and passed all competencies. The provider noted that had she produced that weld at college level, she would have immediately passed that aspect of the course. To top it off, the employer mentioned that only one person has ever scored higher than Charlotte in the history of the event!

We are exceptionally proud of all our students for embracing every opportunity. Experiences like these are a vital part of our school Careers Strategy.

This morning, we welcomed Olivia from HETA to Healing Academy. HETA is the leading engineering provider is the Yorkshire and Humber region. Olivia delivered an excellent assembly to all of our Year 11 students, sharing the fantastic Post-16 opportunities available.

She also stayed to do a bespoke Careers Corner during lunch time. It was wonderful to see so many of our students taking advantage of the opportunity to speak with Olivia, ask questions and benefit from her expert advice and guidance as they begin to consider their next steps.

This visit forms an important part of our Careers Curriculum, bringing our Careers Strategy to life and supporting every student to reach their full potential. It also exemplifies Gatsby Benchmark 7, ensuring that all students understand the full range of learning opportunities available to them, including academic, technical and vocational routes.

A huge thank you to Olivia for inspiring and supporting our students!
