POSTS STORIES REELS

Hi friends! So glad you are here!

I love this space and am so happy to share my journey that led to lower tox living that literally saved my husband’s life and changed my whole family’s!

I am passionate about realistic wellness. Progress over perfection—because who’s perfect?

I share Bible verses almost daily because my faith is rooted in Jesus.

Every time I go to hit the share button on this app I stop and pray that it would help someone before I even post.

The inspiration and nudge to start this page happened between me and the Lord one on one while I was in the infrared sauna one afternoon.

Love iced coffees, the sunlight, being outdoors, our pet chickens, growing flowers, supporting local farmers, homeschooling my kiddos, getting back to the basics, and a good red light!

Our house is NEVER quiet, which is why I don’t make live appearances in my stories often. 🙃

I hope you learn something from this page & hope we can be friends! Thank you for being here! ❤️ by @healingthemold

So incredibly thankful and grateful to the Lord for stable scans for my husband!

11 years into this and the anxiety surrounded by scan day is still as bad today as it was 11 years ago.

If you have followed our journey you know that I’ve said numerous times that cancer has a way of changing you. It makes the little things feel big and it makes an ordinary day feel like a gift.

Today, we got the news that there is no evidence of cancer. Praise God!!

Cancer may have changed our lives, but it will never have the final say over the God we serve.

It’s always been a dream of mine to write scripture on the framing of our house.

Before we covered these walls, we wanted God’s Word to be part of our home.

Thank you Jesus for your faithfulness 🙌 by @healingthemold

Step outside for 10-20 minutes shortly after you wake up without wearing sunglasses so the light can reach your eyes!

Your eyes send information about light to your brain’s circadian clock, which helps coordinate your body’s daily rhythms.

Morning light helps tell your body, “it’s daytime.” That timing cue helps regulate the natural rise and fall of hormones and signals involved in your sleep-wake cycle including cortisol in the morning and melatonin later at night.

Morning light raises cortisol, which is a hormone that gives you natural energy for the day.

Morning light stops melatonin making you feel awake and alert.

Morning light boosts serotonin production from your brain improving your mood and keeping you calm.

This is why it’s foundational and SO important to get natural light (not blue light from your phone or indoor lighting) first thing in the morning!

Think:
•Healthy circadian rhythm
•Balanced hormones + energy
•Better sleep
•More daytime alertness
•Appropriate melatonin production at night

Social media can be so wild. Thankful to know Jesus today and everyday! by @healingthemold

Let’s just say my versions of success changed.

My dream used to be a good-paying job, a nice house, and a life that looked successful from a worldly view.

Now?

I want to be a Christian wife and a present mom. To raise healthy, happy children. To have a home filled with peace. To watch the sunrise with a good cup of coffee and thank God for the ordinary moments I once took for granted. by @healingthemold

So about that easier life, Lord. 😂 by @healingthemold

Turns out, sometimes the answer to your prayer looks a whole lot like sanctification.

Thank you God for keeping me on my toes. 😅

Research has linked exposure to nature during childhood with better mental health outcomes.

And honestly, this is one reason I want my boys outside as much as possible.

Their moods inside versus outside are night and day difference.

Sometimes the simplest medicine is sunshine, fresh air, and a whole lot of time in nature. 🌱

My son’s tonsils were SO enlarged, and at first, I thought the only answer was to get them removed.

But the more I learned about the airway, I wanted to understand WHY they were enlarged and what was happening with his airway as a whole.

Tonsils are an important part of the immune system, especially during childhood. They help recognize and respond to germs entering through the mouth and nose.

We ended up seeing an airway trained dentist who recommended palate expansion due to a narrow airway + nasal cavity, narrow jaw and high arched palate, chronic mouth breathing, teeth grinding, poor sleep, dark circles under the eyes, snoring, teeth crowding, and chronic nasal congestion. (Speech issues, picky eating, bed wetting, adhd, and headaches can also be symptoms).

After just a few months of palate expansion his tonsils became noticeably smaller.

Why did palate expansion help?
1. He was chronically mouth breathing at night (this in itself will enlarge the tonsils because you should always be nasal breathing). The tonsils take the hit of all the pathogens in the air keeping them chronically inflamed and irritated.
2. His nasal cavity and airway was small and narrow due to a high arched palate. The mouth breathing at night was partly due to not being able to get enough air through the nasal cavity due to the narrowness + the tongue not being trained to rest properly on the roof of the mouth.
3. His upper (and lower) palate was very narrow…this can be from pacifier use, bottles, soft baby foods, and epigenetics. Our jaws are becoming more narrow due to moving away from the practices of our ancestors. If our babies aren’t using their jaws to chew they won’t widen appropriately.
4. A tongue tie can also restrict the tongue from resting properly on the upper palate which is what maintains the upper palate into its wider position.

The noticeable difference in the size of his mouth and jaw is incredible. His teeth are also spacing out to make room for his permanent teeth.

Palate expansion has changed his health! He sleeps better, breathes better, his posture is better, and he feels better because of it! by @healingthemold

Informed consent means more than being told what someone recommends.

It means understanding the benefits, risks, alternatives, and what could happen if you choose to do nothing and having the freedom to make the decision without pressure.

You don’t have to be against something to believe people deserve complete information before saying yes.

Ask questions. Do your research. Get a second opinion.

Consent without understanding isn’t truly informed consent.

As a past bedside RN, I can tell you countless times where patients were never given true informed consent by the doctors.

Even since becoming a mom I’ve experienced numerous instances of zero informed consent.

Have you always been given informed consent? Let me know your experience and thoughts! 💭

Comment “ECZEMA” for more info on my son’s eczema journey & how we used acemannan in his healing.

Comment “ERMI” for the link where we purchased the at home test for checking our house for mold.

I spent a year searching for answers.

Because what do you mean my son has chronic severe eczema when on paper he should be completely healthy.

Every conventional doctor he saw wanted to slap a cream on it, but never wanted to figure out the reason why his skin was screaming for help in the first place.

After nearly a year, as a last ditch resort I saw another mom talking about mold on social media and I resonated with so many of the symptoms she mentioned in not only my son with eczema, but my other children as well.

We did an ERMI test of our home. Hired professional mold inspectors. And found that we did in fact have very high unsafe toxic levels of mold that should not be in an indoor living space.

We moved out of that house and amazingly, my son’s eczema vanished after a few weeks.

After spending a year running to doctors, slathering him in creams, and ace bandage wrap we finally had answers!

Most skin issues are “gut” related and although I was working daily to heal any gut issues he had we were never making progress because the constant exposure of mycotoxins were causing leaky gut and immune system dysregulation within his body.

I used acemannan to support his immune system dysregulation along with probiotics, omega 3’s, slippery elm bark, and bone broth to heal his gut lining.
