There is a deep intelligence in respecting the innate wisdom of our physiology when postpartum. Postpartum literally means “after birth”, so once you have birthed you are always postpartum. However, in recent years this word has become synonymous/shorthand for postpartum-depression, as our culture has in many ways abandoned mothers & the care of women’s bodies.

When the 5 Universal Postpartum Needs are understood, tended to, and met for both mother & baby alike, we are able to better heal and integrate the transformative experience of birth on a physiological level. This is foundational for our lifelong health moving forward in our mothering. If these needs are not met, then our health, wellness, and ability to mother to our full potential are all vulnerable, as our bodies will be forced to function at a deficit.

In class 3 of MotherCircle, MotherBody, we learn about these universal needs and discuss which may still be calling to you. This way you can be intentionally nourished 3 months, 3 years, or 3 decades after giving birth.

Video of sweet baby Wren, daughter of my longtime friend & client @kearakmangham of @healingintegration during our first postpartum visit, tending to the very needs mentioned above.💞

Grief Circle & Community Altar
Please join us for Sattva Yoga Center’s Fourth Annual Grief Circle & Community Altar, facilitated by Mandy McGaugh of Heart to Hand Holistic Healing.
We are not meant to carry our grief alone.
Grief touches each of us in different ways. It may come through the loss of someone we love, a relationship, a season of life, a dream, or simply through the changes and transitions that are part of being human.
This gathering offers a compassionate space to come together in community—to honor what we have lost, make room for what we carry, and remember that grief does not have to be experienced in isolation.
Together, we will create a community altar as a place of remembrance, reflection, and connection. You are invited to bring photos, flowers, or meaningful objects to place on the altar during our time together. All personal items will be returned to you at the end of the evening.
Mandy will gently guide the circle through practices of reflection, grounding, movement, meditation, sound, and shared connection, allowing each person to participate in whatever way feels appropriate.
There is no particular way you need to grieve, no experience you need to have, and no expectation that you share more than you wish.
Come as you are, and bring whatever is in your heart.

My extended days : OUT of OFFICE : are soon coming to a close & August books are open.📖💆🏽‍♀️📆📲✅ 🤲🏻

Apologies to all that may have been waiting on communication from me. International service has been spotty, at best, so I’ve taken this opportunity of traveling throughout the entirety of Mercury retrograde as an auspicious invitation to completely unplug.👌🏻💎🫠🌀🐚
