Great to be in New York!

While in New York for Climate Week, the Heart team stopped by Nasdaq to celebrate the first flight of our X1 demonstrator and our new agreement with JSX for up to 100 ES-36 aircraft.

It’s been a year of technical and commercial momentum for Heart, from demonstrating all-electric flight at commercial scale with X1 to building partnerships that will bring it to passengers. And we’re just getting started.

20% more passenger and payload capacity than the ES-30.
Two-nacelle series-hybrid propulsion.

Operating costs at least 40% lower than legacy regional aircraft.

And we’re developing it with our customers.

@flyJSX has signed a deposit-backed purchase agreement for 50 ES-36 aircraft, with purchase rights for another 50.

We’ll work together to connect travelers through convenient community airports, combining quiet all-electric flight, a spacious, comfortable cabin and JSX’s signature speed and ease, from curb to cabin and onward.

@heartaerospace just flew the world’s largest battery-electric aircraft!

If you have ever travelled anywhere, you probably know the dilemma of having to choose between your carbon footprint and your budget.

Norrsken VC portfolio company and Norrsken 100 alumni Heart Aerospace sends that dilemma to the past.

Last Wednesday August 12th, 2026, Heart Aerospace’s X1, an aircraft operated entirely by batteries, flew into the sunrise above upstate New York’s Champlain Valley.

The aviation sector is responsible for about 4% of global warming to date, and short-haul flights, exactly the kind that can be replaced by Heart Aerospace’s aircrafts, represent 40% of the sector’s emissions.

And that’s not all: Heart Aerospace is making progress with ES-30, a hybrid, 30-seater aircraft that can cover up to 800kms, scheduled to enter commercial service by 2031.

This is a promising step for aviation’s fossil-free future.

Wheels up Heart X1!

On Wednesday, August 12th, Heart X1 completed its first flight from Plattsburgh international Airport in upstate New York.

106-foot wingspan.
25,000+ pounds takeoff weight.
All-electric, powered entirely by batteries.
X1 became the largest battery-electric aircraft ever flown.

The 27-minute mission used approximately $5 of electricity. An early glimpse of the disruptive economics electrification can bring to commercial aviation.

• It’ll fly up to 500 miles
• Operating costs with be 40-50% lower than comparable aircraft
• Flights up 125 miles can have ZERO emissions
• Up to 30 passengers in a 2-1 layout
• Lower noise level to allow operations from downtown airports

Cleared for flight ✈️

After years of hard work from the team and close collaboration with the FAA, Heart Aerospace’s X1 was issued a Special Airworthiness Certificate, authorizing us to begin flight testing.

With a 106-foot wingspan, X1 is expected to be the largest electric aircraft ever flown.
