DAY IN THE LIFE AT HEARTH

We really believe every day we get to serve you here at hearth is a gift. We hustle through the busy moments, find joy in the chaos, and sometimes you just gotta laugh.

But WOW… it’s an amount of work I completely underestimated. The only reason it’s possible, and even joyful, is because of the team that pours their heart into this place day after day. Tomorrow marks 4 MONTHS since we opened, I can’t believe how quickly the time has flown.

Hey guys, I’m Seb — I’m 25, and together with my wife Kellie and our incredible team, we opened Hearth, our restaurant and coffee shop.

For us, Hearth is about more than great food and coffee — it’s about creating a space that brings people together. A place where care and intention goes into every detail: from the way we source our ingredients to how we welcome you in the door.

Our first fall “for the table” dish is special for two reasons.

First off, it’s drenched in the mother of all Mexican sauces, mole. For those who don’t know, mole is an absolute labor of love, slowly simmered with dozens of ingredients to create a deep, complex flavor, with no two moles ever quite the same. If you see it on a menu, there’s a pretty good chance it’s a dish the kitchen is stoked on. And if someone makes it for you in their home, you better lick the plate clean.

The second reason is that this one was created completely by Chef Isa. Isa has been with us since we opened, and it’s been really special watching him grow as a chef and a leader. He’s put a ton of work into this dish, and we’re pumped to give him the space to create and feature something of his own on our fall Chef’s Specials menu.

HERITAGE PORK CHOP WITH FIG MOLE

12oz heritage pork chop, housemade mole with figs from @apricotlanefarms, spiced @mcgrathfamilyfarmers carrots, crema + toasted sesame.

I know it might not feel like it BUT fall is here, or at least we’re going to tell ourselves that so we can start drinking our new…

BROWN BUTTER PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE

Cody and the coffee crew absolutely knocked it out of the park. Housemade brown butter pumpkin syrup, espresso + milk, topped with some fresh cinnamon.
PSL lovers, this one is for you.

It’s one of three new drinks hitting the fall menu today, but you’ll have to come in to learn about the other two.

This has been a long time in the works.

Catering and events have always held a special place for us. It’s where we started, and ultimately what gave us the opportunity to buy our first oven, and open the doors to Hearth.

When we decided to jump back into catering, the question was, how do we do it differently? How do we bring the experience we’ve loved building at the restaurant to you? (Minus the disco ball, unfortunately.)

Pumped to say we figured it out.

We’re officially opening our books for catering of all sizes for the rest of this year and into 2027.

Weddings, birthdays, corporate events, intimate dinners, or just an excuse to get your favorite people together. We’ll bring Hearth to you and make it special.

Back with some much better news!

We got everything sorted and we’re back open today with our regular hours! 8am-9pm! Thank you for your patience yesterday. We’re pumped to be back!

In other good news, our fall drink menu lands October 1, so you’ve still got a little time to come get your summer favorites!

And our first fall dinner dish hits the menu TONIGHT! All I’ll say is… sweet potatoes are back.

What an absolutely INSANE weekend.

Thank you to everyone who pulled up, and to the whole @enegrenbrewing family for throwing the craziest Oktoberfest yet!

But the biggest thank you and shoutout goes to this TEAM. We knew it was going to be a busy one, so it was truly all hands on deck, everyone doing anything and everything they could all weekend long.

A year and a half in, the best part of this place isn’t the food or drinks, or even you guys (close second). It’s getting to serve and cook alongside all of these faces every day. Missing a couple in these photos, but couldn’t be more proud of this crew.

If they look a little sleepy today, they get a pass… they took just about 2,000 ORDERS IN TWO DAYS. INSANE.

Back to our regular hours + menu this week! Fall dishes and drinks start hitting the menu soon, just need one more market run on Wednesday to grab a few last things. Which means some of our summer dishes start saying goodbye after tonight.

A man can dream…

JUST KIDDING, WE’RE SLINGING BEER BRATS ALL WEEKEND LONG 🌭

For our Oktoberfest lovers, we’ve got the classic,

GERMAN DAWG
Potato bun, mustard + sauerkraut

And for our LA FAM,

LA DAWG
Potato bun, bell peppers, onions + mayo

Things are just kicking off and it’s already CRAZY. I always forget how y’all pull up for these weekends and how much fun these days are!

At the front of The Alley you’ll find our brat station, and in the back we’re slinging pizza + coffee 🍕☕️

Hot buttered pretzels everywhere.

And PLEASE don’t sleep on the Apple Fritter Latte. IT’S INSANE.

Okay, back into the action!!!

We’re here until 9PM tonight and then BACK AT IT TOMORROW AT 11AM.

About a month ago we gave Cody the task of making a special drink just for Oktoberfest weekend, and dang did he deliver.

Meet the APPLE FRITTER LATTE.

Apple cider simmered down with cinnamon sticks, allspice + brown sugar, espresso, milk, and fresh vanilla cold foam.

Insanely good, and only here for the weekend.

IMPORTANT OKTOBERFEST INFO!

We’ll be opening at 11am BOTH Saturday + Sunday. With the size of Oktoberfest, we unfortunately won’t be able to serve breakfast either morning.

BUT pizzas, brats, pretzels, and salads start at 11am and go all the way until 9pm, alongside our full coffee + matcha menu all day.

Some more Wednesday morning shenanigans!

Always worth the early morning and long drive to get out here, talk directly with the farmers, and hear what they’re excited about and what should actually be on the menu right now.

And with that… fall at Hearth is imminent.

Starting next week, things are changing across every part of the day. Some favorites from last year are making their way back in new forms, plenty of completely new dishes are coming, and it’s time to say goodbye to a few things we’ve been loving all summer.

The best weekend of the year is almost here!

Join us for Oktoberfest in The Alley this Saturday + Sunday from 11am–9pm! YES, we’re open Sunday. Don’t get used to it!

Come hungry for brats + pizza, and thirsty for our weekend-only Apple Fritter Latte. Our neighbors at @enegrenbrewing and @lucas_sellers_wine have the beer + wine covered, plus there’ll be live German music and plenty for the whole fam: Ferris wheel Saturday, kids’ obstacle course Sunday, petting zoo, face painting, ice cream, crafts by @thecrafthouse805 + local vendors!

BRING THE WHOLE FAM!

Tickets are $10 for both days, and anyone under 21 gets in FREE. You can grab yours ahead of time at the link in our bio!

A couple heads up for the weekend, we’ll be opening at 11am Saturday + Sunday with no dinner service and will only serving our Oktoberfest event menu. Our FULL coffee menu will be available all day though!

So if you’re hoping for a Hearth dinner date or need your breakfast burrito fix this week, come see us Tuesday–Friday!
