One of the things I like to do when decorating a tree is use different sizes of bulbs and use different shades of color.
Let's focus on red which is probably in my opinion the best color to go inside of a tree
The largest bulb here has a slightly tomato orange undertone in person. The next size down is your true Christmas red.
The one on the bottom is more of a brick red it's actually a black ornament with red glitter over it giving it almost a rustic vibe.
All of these things add dimension to your tree without people really noticing.
Also don't be afraid to put large ornaments on the top and small ornaments on the bottom.
It makes the tree more cohesive. by @hearthside__

Every tree has that hole in it and I love these gigantic ornaments from Hobby lobby.
I would say they're about six to eight inches tall and 6-8 in wide.
With a half off pricing they come out to about $5 and change.
I wish they had green ones but I love the mercury glass look and they are very much glass and they have good heft. They work without official trees I don't know if it would work with a real tree.
The mercury glass process is done very well and it has a beautiful metal spinial on top that has antiquing.
These sell out fast if you haven't gone now, run by @hearthside__

Has anyone had an opportunity to smell this?
I just found out about it today and my Walmart is sold out.
I don't know if it's Nationwide or a Walmart exclusive.
I do know it's 10 bucks but if it smells like Christmas trees I'm in. by @hearthside__

I think it could be an ad in a magazine.
To me Christmas magic is Holiday sage with a little bit more incense.

I went to my Stonewall kitchen last week.
I don't know if these stores are nationwide or if they are specific to my region because that is where Stonewall kitchen is based out of?
They are selling this candle which once went for $23 for under $9.
Sad that we won't see the style again. I have one left and I'll probably buy another.
Royal nutcracker smells exactly like ribbon candy, the best most spot on ribbon candy fragrance.
Slightly spicy with a little bit of lemon and clove.
It smells like Christmas.
This fragrance was originally called Jingle bells, Village candle changed it around 2015.

I'm going to be slowly transitioning to Holiday content effective today.
I hope you're all doing well I'm still recovering from the flu.
Does anybody remember the Gap Christmas candle?
It was expensive I'm thinking 30 to $50 for 10 oz or less.
It had a very viscous greasy wax like Palm wax.
Think like carmex for your lips.
One of my first jobs was the Gap in high school and I would get my mother one every Christmas.

That was the best job I ever had.
50% off all the clothes. No stress.
But I remember the Christmas candle and then they did their line of body care with matching candles.
There was a yellow one, a red, I think called Om, they had a blue one I want to say called Dream a teal one called Heaven, and then they had a green one for grass. Oh my God good times. by @hearthside__

It's been such a beautiful 2 weeks here.
The coolest fall I have experienced in over 20 years.
Today is warm at 68° but that's the warmest day we've had so far this month.
It's back into the low 50s and 30s at night starting this weekend.
I had a great time at the Fryeburg Fair I've been getting out as much as I can and today I am full-blown 100% suffering from the flu. 😷

I knew if I went to the Fryeburg Fair because I don't go to big crowds a lot and because my immune system is a little shot from the steroids I took all summer there was a risk but screw it honestly. I didn't worry about it but this morning I woke up and it was rough. 🤢
I don't know if I'd rather have a flu or a cold? if I had to choose probably a flu. I don't like coughing.
So my videos for this weekend are a little iffy but if I had to do it all over again I would. 🎡
I hate my picture being taken but this is from the Kancamagus highway region of the White mountains on Tuesday, the real feel was in the 30s in the mountains.
I love you guys and I will see you soon.
Let me know how your fall is going and how are you planning for your Halloween.
I haven't even made my apple crisp I went and picked apples 2 weeks ago they're still on my peninsula. I have been non-stop because I was inside for almost 4 months..

What a beautiful day yesterday at the Fryeburg Fair.
It was the coldest October day that I can recall in over a decade, this early in the season.
We've had the coolest fall that I can recall in a long time.
I haven't been coming to the Fryeburg Fair because it's been 85°. When I got there it yesterday was 45° with a real feel of 40 and the wind was brisk.
It didn't get comfortable until about 12:00 and even though I was in shorts I was not bothered because I did bring a flannel shirt. Kind of a redneck tuxedo. Lol
I'll have uploads hopefully Friday but thank you for allowing me to enjoy my favorite time of the year.
This Friday will be my last uploads for Fall/Halloween
I will be taking the remainder of October off to get ready for the holiday season.
I also have a couple of important doctor's appointments that will require me to go out of state.

I have heard that foliage is more vibrant by water because of the nitrogen content.
This is probably my favorite picture of the day.
