Midterms deserve a little recovery time. Stop by SCB’s 1st and 2nd floors on October 13 and 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for free food, fall sweet treats, activities, face painting, caricatures, and more.

Still need a Halloween costume? There’ll be free costumes, too! Take a break and enjoy some time with fellow Hawks. Do you ride Connect Transit? This is important information for you!

Effective October 16, 2026, Heartland students who wish to utilize the Connect Transit bus services will need a new student ID card, which are available now at the Library.
These new cards have tap-to-ride technology, which Connect Transit began using this past summer. The old ID cards will no longer be accepted to ride the bus beginning this Friday, October 16, 2026.
Stop by the Library as soon as possible to ensure there are no disruptions to your transportation with Connect Transit. by @heartlandhawks

Happy Transfer Month, Hawks! Your next chapter starts with exploring your options. Meet with college representatives, ask questions about applying, and discover what different schools have to offer at our upcoming transfer fairs.
The Private Illinois Colleges and Universities Fair takes place October 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in CCB 1406/07. The State University Transfer Fair follows on October 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the ACEC 2nd Floor Lobby.

More than 250 job seekers had the opportunity to connect with over 40 local and regional employers at the 2026 Fall Job Fair hosted by the McLean County Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, October 1st. This event was held in partnership with Heartland Community College, Illinois State University, Illinois Wesleyan University, and Bloomington Career Academy as part of Workforce Week, the community’s broader efforts to strengthen and support our local workforce.

The event provided a platform for job seekers to explore career opportunities across various industries including healthcare, manufacturing, education, retail, finance, and public service. Employers in attendance represented a broad spectrum of roles and experience levels, from internships, part-time roles, and full-time positions.

In addition to networking and on-the-spot interviews, attendees benefited from free resume reviews, free professional headshots, and essential workplace skills training. The event supports ongoing efforts to strengthen the local workforce, promote economic growth, and help individuals take the next step in their career journey. by @heartlandhawks

Heartland went purple for recovery! 💜

As part of McLean County’s Paint the Town Purple, our campus came together to raise awareness of substance use disorder and mental health recovery while helping reduce the stigma that can surround them.

Thank you to everyone who helped us Paint the Town Purple and celebrate the power of recovery! Heartland Community College is partnering with the American Red Cross for a Blood Drive tomorrow, September 30, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in WDC 1000.

Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are encouraged. Donors will also receive a $15 e-gift card to a merchant of their choice.

The DMV is coming to Heartland!

The Illinois Secretary of State’s Mobile DMV will be at Heartland on Oct. 1 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. in the Student Leadership Room (WDC 1000), offering services including driver’s license and REAL state ID services, vehicle registration stickers and more.
