WELCOME TO HEARTROME where I share my life and times on this adventure of mine in Rome. ❤️

I was born and raised in Melbourne to two Italy born parents (both born in Prezza, AQ - Abruzzo) and as a dual citizen, have called the eternal city home since 2011. 🇦🇺🇮🇹

I have travelled to all 20 of Italy’s regions, collecting stories along the way. My career in Australia spanned policy, communications and events and since living in Rome I have become an award-winning food and travel journalist. I have bylines in many of the world’s most prestigious publications and have written four bestselling books. 📚

Along the way, there have been many accolades: being named one Rome’s most influential people in travel by Italian newspaper La Repubblica, being selected to speak as an influential woman in food by Corriere della Sera and having Massimo Bottura endorse my latest book (Mangia). 💪🏻

Telling stories and having Italy as my muse has been one of the great honours of my life. An Australian national news TV crew joined the festivities of my global book launch and I spoke to them about Mangia, about food heritage and about moving to Rome. It’s a night I will never forget ✨🇮🇹 Will share the story once it airs 📺 In the meantime, again: thank you fans, followers, press colleagues, friends and family. MANGIA is OUT NOW WORLDWIDE (with the exception of a few countries where it hits next week). My newest book guides you on eating your way through the whole of Italy. Each chapter takes you on a culinary journey through the dishes, drinks, produce, culinary experiences and food festivals of Italy’s 20 regions. It’s been dubbed the Italian food bible and hope you’ll keep it in on your bookshelves, coffee tables and hearts for years to come. Some places stay with you. And returning to them feels even more special 🤍

My third visit to @borgoegnazia - a place already filled with beautiful family memories - was every bit as rejuvenating as I’d hoped 🌟

A magical Puglian evening of traditional music and food, a heavenly massage at the gorgeous VAIR Spa, dips in the pool and a puccia filled with Martina Franca capocollo and buffalo mozzarella that I’m still dreaming about 😍

We also visited sister property @masseriasandomenico for lunch and an invigorating thalassotherapy experience 💆‍♀️

But one of the real highlights was meeting agronomist @giordanosid and learning about Borgo Egnazia’s extraordinary seed preservation project and the work being done to safeguard Puglia’s agricultural heritage 🌱

It all came full circle over a playful, thought-provoking Michelin-starred dinner at @duecamini where those very seeds and forgotten vegetables find their way onto the plate 🍽️

And then there are the people who make it all so memorable! The wonderful PR duo @carm.borrelli and @elenamancini__ (+ @lisanitti11 ) my fabulous travel partner @jenniferbogo and the talented Chef @domingoschingaro 💪🏻❤️

A beautiful reminder that true luxury isn’t just about beautiful places, but the people, stories and traditions that bring them to life ✨

Another season has passed ✨
Summing up this summer in 20 pics wasn’t easy!

It was long, horribly hot and for those of us with chronic health issues, at times extremely tough. But there were also beautiful moments and plenty to be grateful for ❤️

Just before it began, I travelled to USA & Canada for a family holiday I’ll never forget. As summer officially started, I caught up with friends in Seattle. I then spent a lot of time in Rome before travelling to Greece with friends then continuing to Ischia with my sister (where the gorgeous @michelangelo_capri family surprised us for a dinner!)

We then hit London for @bonjovi at Wembley 🎶

Work took me to Ravello to the fabulous @palazzoavino and back to Puglia for a regenerating stay at @borgoegnazia 🇮🇹 + a staycation at the grand @hotelderussie & stunning rooftop drinks at the @oro_bistrot_roma ❤️

And that’s a wrap!

Goodbye summer… I guess we’ll meet again soon in Australia 🤦‍♀️😂🇦🇺❤️

London is always so good for the soul. Another outstanding stay at @browns_hotel - I say it time and time again: finding a nice hotel room isn’t hard, it’s the service that makes the difference. Their consistent and heartfelt ‘welcome back’ each time and attention to detail is what sets them apart. This time, they even outdid themselves by securing us tickets for the sold out “Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style” exhibition at Buckingham Palace! Add to that, copious amounts of scones, cups of tea, Mayfair shopping, a Ted Lasso day in Richmond, Schiaparelli exhibition at V&A and Bon Jovi at Wembley - my heart is full, I’m forever grateful and can’t wait to come back ❤️🇬🇧 taken in London, England by @heartrome

There are places you return to time and time again, not just because they feel like home, not just because they are familiar. But because - quite simply - they are magic. Ischia 2026 so far 🇮🇹❤️ From lazy pool days with ice cream at @botaniarelais to beach clubbing and oven baked mussels at @edenischia 🎣 There have been street festivals, random fireworks, spaghetti alle vongole at Maronti Beach @ristoranteida and divine pizza at @lisola_restaurant_ischia 🇮🇹❤️
