✨ Confidence starts at home, but it grows through community. 🤎

Hearts Working Hard was created to bring our community together to remind Black children that the hair God gave them is something to be proud of. Growing up, I struggled with feeling confident in my natural hair, especially during back-to-school season. As one of five girls raised by a single mother, keeping up with everyone’s hair wasn’t always easy or affordable. I often wore a relaxer because it felt like the only manageable option. Today, my goal is to make sure the next generation knows they never have to change who they are to feel accepted.

Through Hearts Working Hard, we’ll be helping children head back to school with confidence by celebrating natural hair while providing school supplies, hygiene essentials, and encouragement to help them start the year feeling their best.

This is only the beginning. Follow along for volunteer opportunities, donation drives, event updates, and ways you can help us make a lasting impact—one child, one family, and one heart at a time. 🤎✨

Join us for Crowned for Success: Back to School Community Day! ✂️ 🎒

We’re bringing the community together for a day of free resources, fresh cuts and styles, and opportunities to connect. To show you all a little bit of who are the faces behind this event, we wanted to provide a sneak peak of the packaging process and items to expect there. Early arrival is advised !

💇🏽‍♀️ Free hairstyles until 4:00 PM
💈 Free haircuts until 1:00 PM
🧴 Free hygiene kits
📚 Free school supplies (while supplies last)
🎟️Entry into surprise raffle upon arrival.

Come meet local organizations, connect with community leaders, and learn about resources available right here in our community. Bring your family, invite a friend, and come spend the day with us. We can’t wait to see you! 💙

👑 The Crowned for Success Drive is a day dedicated to helping Black children start the school year feeling confident, prepared, and supported.

The intended age group WILL be K-8th grade. BUT we strongly encourage young adults to come volunteer & make long lasting professional connections.

Families will have the opportunity to receive back-to-school haircuts and hairstyles, school supplies, hygiene kits, and hair care products—all while connecting with organizations and community members who are invested in the success of our youth. Our goal is to create an encouraging environment where every child leaves feeling proud of who they are and excited for the school year ahead.
