So ive been dormant for a while, but doesn't mean I've been inactive.
If yinz missed it, this is an absolute burner. This might be the best batch yet!
Bad news is cans are out at the brewery, but the good news is there's still plenty on tap!
We used some 7 pot lava peppers in the mix with this one.
Check your local distro for some or go hang with my friends at @abjurationbrewing and enjoy some!

How about these fall colors?

So I havent really been on Instagram or social media at all this year. While I have been absent here I've still been very busy. This has been the best season I have had to date. This is just 8 varieties I pulled today. Each from one plant per variety.

I will have hot sauce available to sale from my final products from last year, so if you're interested, let me know.

More to come!

Being that I haven't posted on a while I figured I'd get back to it with one of my favorite peppers visually speaking.
Buena Mulata
Cayenne level of heat and similar flavor but the beauty of this plant is one of my favorites. Fruits of this type grow from a rich purple to a creamy white then orange and eventually a crimson when fully ripe.

Peppers that went into fermentation last week:
1. White Moruga Scorpion
These things are huge and I completely forgot that I planted these until I checked the plant and had a ton of them on the plant. These things are large than gold balls and I had a good harvest of them just from one plant.
Aroma is floral, but also incredibly tropical, I get a strong coconut from these.

2. Big Mustard Mama
As big as the White Moruga Scorpion, but tapered. Savage level of heat, and they produced very well. Similar to the other varieties of the same family. Tons of capsaicin oil in these.

Bonus growing season for the the month of October. It's rare to go the whole month without a frost in the general Pittsburgh area. That being said it's full bore harvest time on what's left outside. This week is going to be insane.

Here's another accidental crossbreed. This was mixed in with a bunch of red biquinhos. It seems to be a cross between a red biquinho and a ghost or similar variety.
These things are fantastic. If you've had the biquinho before, likely you are a fan. Bright, citrusy, wonderful pop of flavor with little to no heat.
These however have a wonderful light floral, even tropical tone with a subtle heat to them.
Seeds saved, hope to have more of these next year.

Pulled this gnarly chocolate ghost off last night. Absolutely savage heat, look at all the oil inside this guy. This was a high producing plant this year. #ghostpepper #getburnt #capsaicin #chilipeppers #homegrown #homegarden #spicelife #spicelord #hotpeppers #bhutjolokia #chocolateghost #scoville #scovillescale by @heatforge
