I've always been highly emotional.
I still am.
I just don't get swept away by my emotions ALLLL the time.

"...for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstance. " Phillipians 4:11

I still celebrate, I still get disappointed. I just stay there for a brief moment in time.

I'm learning not to let circumstances dictate my emotions. I'm more balanced, present, and even-keeled.

I make better decisions and have more energy to... Float, Float On 😅

2️⃣ My identity is in Christ. Not my status or accomplishments.

A friend recently reminded me that entrepreneurship isn't for the faint of heart. Isn't that the truth!

And with everything changing so rapidly, who really knows what tomorrow will bring?

But here's the freedom I've found. My circumstances can change overnight. My identity and value does not! I AM created in the image of the MOST HIGH.

2 Corinthians 5:16-19 reminds us that in Christ we're made new and reconciled to Yahweh.

WHAAAAT? 💥🤯

We're all meeting each other in a snapshot of who we are. Not necessarily who we've been or who we're becoming.

Knowing that helps me love myself and others more fully. There's so much freedom in not defining people, including ourselves, by one season of life.

3️⃣ Love is the highest currency. ❤️

I've always been a lover of people. I'm a love bucket! People who know me know this. 😂

But Yeshua is teaching me to love more deeply, more freely, and less conditionally.

He said people would know we're His disciples by the way we love one another. — John 13:35

And sometimes love is so simple.

Let someone go first. Let someone else choose. Don't always insist on having the last word.

Not because your needs don't matter, but because theirs do, too.

There's a lightness and richness that comes from loving this way.

You can literally see love become visible in others.

I'm still learning. Every single day.

Love is the highest currency.

I lost my grandmother to breast cancer.

A big smile for a late summer day in Bryant Park, NYC.
What you can’t see is that I’ve had seasons where smiling did not come easy.

If you’re the kind of person who keeps showing up, keeps working, keeps carrying things that no one else can see - I know how heavy that can feel.

I smile because I’m learning to look for the small things that still hold me up:
people who stay,
truth that steadies me,
and the reminder that a hard season is still only a season.

Here's my 7 Reasons I Smile Even When Times Are Extremely Hard 🤍

1. Every day above ground is another day to get it right.
We've all lost more than we wanted in the last six years. So I choose to rejoice in every day — for it is the day the Lord hath made.

2. I am fully healthy, and I have a beautiful body that I love.
I have the privilege of eating well, of exercising, and moving my body — and choosing to take care of it. I never take that for granted.

3. Both of my parents are alive. My brother is alive. My family is huge and they love me hard.
100+ cousins deep. I didn't grow up with both parents in my household -- but today I have a relationship with my dad, and I treasure every single moment with my mom. She's 72, and I believe she's got at least 25 more years ahead of her.

4. Getting something "wrong" is just another chance to get it right.
I don't call it failure anymore. I call it recalibration. And honestly? It makes me more excited every single day to get better.

5. I live in the United States, and I choose abundance.
The resources, the people, the tools - I don't take one bit of it for granted. I first learned this lesson in 1997, coming home from 5 months in Ghana. It changed how I see everything.

6. I didn't get the love of my life wrong. 😉
Still hopeful. Still preparing. I'm becoming the woman I want to be, every single day - because that's who's going to attract my kingdom husband. 🙌🏽

7. My passion for clean water is on fire! 🔥
People are more excited about clean, safe water than ever before. My girlfriend is at a conference RIGHT NOW with nonprofits from across the country - and access to clean water is the #1 priority in the room. My future is bright, my f taken in Bryant Park by @heather.h2o
