Jennie has officially hung up her turnouts…for the last time. I love the traditions of the fire service and especially retirement because it gives us a glimpse of your world. It lets us reflect on all you’ve done and to say THANK YOU. I remember your graduation from the academy…the reality of what you do every day…hitting me so hard…my little sis…so bad ass, working so hard to contribute and really be a part of this dept.
It’s not easy to be a woman firefighter, besides how gross it is to live with all those guys, it’s navigating lots of egos and constant challenge to prove yourself.

But you did it!!!! You showed up and dug in and not a surprise to all of us as your family…because it’s exactly what you do for all of us♥️
This is where you have made me the most proud. Not only making it a great career, but doing all you can to make it a better department for all those that come after you. Inspiring, growing and supporting everyone around you. So…congratulations, Jennie!!! So so proud of you and I know whatever comes next…it will be a better place because you’re in it. Love you♥️ by @heather.rivard

The end to another Minnesota Gopher Cheer season but this one hit different. We have watched these kids over the past four years…mature and grow, pushing themselves to be the best they could be…always leading with strength, determination and love. Tanner will cheer again next year but we will cherish these past 4 years and the memories made of these amazing four kids and their families! Thanks to the fantastic coaches, trainers, interns and families for a great year!♥️💛
So proud of you, Tanner! Can’t wait till next season! #mvp #proudcheermom by @heather.rivard
