I decided to decorate the house a little early for fall. Now I’m relaxing and watching one of my favorite vampire movies (Lost Boys). Makes me want to go to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Autumn is here. El otoño ya está aquí. by @heather_besos

💜🌺WELCOME HEATHER BESOS💜🌺

Today, we highlight Heather who is Bay Area house music royalty! She crushed it last year and we are so happy to have her return this year to drop a dope set for us! Let’s GO! 🔥

Location: Oakland
Affiliation: It’s a Lovely Day
Bio: Heather Besos has been rocking parties big and small since highschool! For nearly 3 decades she has been holding her own with the best knob turners, headliners, and red-liners in the industry. It all began in 1996 back in El Paso, Texas, the sister city of Juarez Mexico. At just 14, she started her record collecting journey and was welcomed with open arms into El Paso’s house music scene in 1996. A year later, she moved to New Mexico where she frequented the Underground Nation. In 1998 marked one of Heather’s first residencies, “Rapture”, where she was fortunate enough to play alongside Mark Farina. 💜

In late 90’s/early 00’s, Heather would record hunt in San Francisco, making friends with her fellow DJs and dancers. In August of 2004, Heather moved to the Bay Area. Her first gig was at Stylus at the Oasis in Oakland. She had a residency in SF at Lingba Lounge from 2004-2006. She lived in SF’s Lower Haight district with friend, mentor, and housemate Roam Records’ Chad Mitchell from about 2006- 2015. DJing bars and clubs such as Wish, The Top, Anu, Butter, Mars Bar, The Shadow Lounge, Snow Drift, End-Up, Mighty, Triple Crown, and Cardiff Lounge.🔥

Today, Heather resides in Oakland where she founded the Bay Area Roller Group. She also helps organize and DJ free day parties such as TikiFunk & It’s A Lovely Day with Mario Dubbz. For the past few decades she has been winning over crowds with her track selections & smoother than Goldie’s fur coat mixing style. Playing alongside respected names, such as: Brett Jonnson, Chris Lum, Collette, David Harness, Dehota, Diz, DJ Dan, DJ Heather, DJ Sneak, Doc Martin, Fred Everything, Garth, Gene Hunt, Hipp-e, Jeno, Joshua Iz, JT Donaldson, Mark Farina, Mood II Swing, Mr. V, Roger Sanchez, Rick Preston, Tony Hewitt, & Wally Callerio.🤯

Organic- DJ Dan Tribute 🪩💜🎶🦋

Last Saturday was a really special one. Funky Tekno Tribe’s Organic brought together so many legendary DJs and artists who have inspired me for years. I feel truly honored to have been invited to be a part of it.

It was an emotional and memorable day, and while not everything went exactly as planned, I’m incredibly grateful for the experience, for everyone who came out to support us, and for all the love and kindness we received throughout the day.

Thank you Hector, DJ Sneak, Heather Robinson, Colette Marino, Tony Hewitt, Denise Rees, and my husband Mario Wright. We missed you Dawn Ofsound. Happy Birthday Jennifer Farrell! 🩷🩷🩷🩷🪩💜🦋🎶 by @heather_besos
