This week has been one that I will never, ever forget! The Shoot Crawl at @elkinsestate will go down in history as one of my most favorite editorial events we’ve ever done. From concept to execution and every design detail, logistical spreadsheet and late nights in between .. it was all brought to life in the most magical way. Seeing something you pour your heart & soul into come to fruition in the most perfect way is a level of satisfaction I can’t explain. 4 full styled shoots, headshots, portrait stations, an amazing team of vendors and 200 photographers loving it all = one very thankful and overly grateful Heather! 🎉2016 🎉 Phew - what a year!! I just went on a trip down memory lane and what a treat to reminisce on such a special time in my life & career. For me — the highlights of 2016 included… - Creating styled shoots for 7 magazine covers among many other shoots that were featured in several publications (!!!) - Hosted “Pretty & Published” styled shoot workshops - which eventually led to the idea of SSAA! - Heather Benge Events planned 24 amazing couples wedding days — I kinda miss this! - Won lots of Industry awards — y’all remember when this was a thing?! - Taught the “Wedding & Event Planning” class at our local community college - just call me Professor Heather! - Spoke on stages across the country including the Wedding MBA in Vegas and David Tutera’s traveling expo - the start of many amazing relationships with lots of industry experts! - Worked with the amazing Madera Estates team - a favorite time in my career seeing the venue side of the industry! Most of all - where we’ve been is a road map to where we are going and without 2016 and all of it’s fabulousness I wouldn’t be doing what I am doing today! Just found this in my camera roll from a few years ago and it makes me laugh! Social media is a highlight reel and 9 times out of 10 it doesn’t show the whole story. We’re all real humans with real lives doing the best we can with what we have. These images are a perfect example…. I was working on flat lay examples for a class I was teaching that year and while the outcome of the flat lays were absolutely beautiful swipe to see my REAL life behind the scenes. I see you — mom of mutilples working on every nap break to make your dream a reality. I see you - full time employee putting in all the hours on the weekends to build your own business. I see you - starting from scratch and spending countless dollars and time on education and trail & errors to make your craft a career. So…. don’t compare yourself to what you see online, it’s probably not the whole picture!! by @heatherbengeofficial

We’ve had the absolute BEST time making magic this week with 150 photographers and more than 60 vendors and models coming together for our Shoot Crawl at Bella Collina! I’m always left speechless as I just admire everything falling into place for the most perfect event that we spend months and months preparing for. I remember when I dreamed of this life and here I am living my dreams out loud!
