Incredible summer spent with family and friends outdoors. Grateful for work that allows me to dial in from anywhere.

Proud of my boys for getting dirty all summer while mountain biking, branding cattle, harvesting wheat, building just about anything with wood, fixing vehicles and taking care of gophers. 😂

Montanans call the state “the last best place,” and it’s true. Good people and plenty of space to hike, fish and view the Northern Lights. I loved time with two of my brothers, beautiful highway drives, heading into nature alone, rodeo nights, celebrating newlyweds and two friends running for Congress/ re-election, plus 1:1 nights with my boys who gave me hilarious, inappropriate nicknames.

After long days, I read three books about fascinating men who made a huge impact on America and even Montana: Teddy Roosevelt, Thaddeus Kosciuszko and Crazy Horse.

Incredible 4th in Montana. 🇺🇸🏔️

Good people, lots of laughs and no cell service. Plenty of teenagers having fun swimming, playing volleyball and hide and seek. They eliminated gophers and put out fires in the way only boys can. 😂 Did I mention they also read books?! It’s how it should be.

Happy Father’s Day. My three brothers and I miss our dad dearly - two of the boys were young when he passed. I know how proud he is of each of his kids and grandkids he never had the opportunity to meet. The best gift he gave us was this family. Though there’s an age gap, we live in different places and have experienced ups and downs, we’ve stuck together and love and support one another. This would bring him more joy than anything. ❤️🙏🏻

Happy Father’s Day to our sweet dad. I wish you knew him - he was the most entertaining and generous man I’ve ever met. by @heathernauert

Today is a great day for America and our ally, Poland, which is now equipped with the most advanced American-built stealth fighter, the F-35. To mark the day, these new fifth generation fighter jets flew over Warsaw, Lask and Gdansk, near where Germany launched its invasion of Poland in 1939. That symbolism was not lost on this audience of Polish and American military officials, diplomats, and media. Enemies of freedom will also take note.

Not only does the F-35 enhance Poland’s military capabilities but the placement of two squadrons here protects America and our NATO allies while serving as a powerful deterrent to any adversary.

Polish President Karol Nawrocki and Defense Minister/ Deputy Prime Minister Wladyslaw Kosinyak-Kamysz thanked President Trump and @statedept Under Secretary Tom DiNanno for their commitment to our countries’ mutual defense. Ambassador Rose and his team at @usembassywarsaw continue to do stellar work supporting U.S. companies and strengthening American jobs at home and abroad.

The largest media company in Poland, @tvn24.pl, owned by the iconic Warner Bros/Discovery, produced live wall-to-wall coverage of today’s events with 20 cameras and more than 80 staff at the air base. @marcin_wrona and other TVN reporters conducted exclusive interviews with U.S. officials and Polish pilots as they trained in the U.S.

A huge round of 👏to @lockheedmartin for building these cutting edge fighters … made in Texas!

Truly the most beautiful, loving wedding I’ve attended, a celebration of love, family, and new beginnings! ❤️

Emily and David became husband and wife, and in the process brought together a remarkable blended family. Watching their 7 children embrace one another and their new stepparents with such love, respect, and joy was one of the most heartwarming parts of the day. David’s teen girls spoke about Emily as the perfect role model and a trusted friend. Emily’s oldest son said God brought their families together when Matthew, the youngest of the children, was born. 🥹

Then in classic Montana style, friends and neighbors pitched in: designing and sewing Emily’s dress, baking the wedding cake, creating dessert tables, a donut wall and grilling a feast. So thoughtful and sweet!

Here’s my recent nighttime reading. I can’t put down this WW2 military yearbook. It’s fascinating. Our doctor’s father was a soldier in this armored tank unit. Our doctor generously shared his family’s history with my youngest son and me. That history included this yearbook, photos and personal letters that his dad wrote home. Beautifully written letters detailing his training, conditions overseas and what he missed back home. In the 1940’s, men wrote, and they wrote well. ❤️ It’s a privilege to review Dr. Greg’s family momentos. I’m learning so much and hope you’ll ask your relatives if something similar exists in your family. 🇺🇸#greatestgeneration #ww2 #liberation #army by @heathernauert

What an experience visiting @wwiimuseum in New Orleans with my youngest son. 🇺🇸

We’ve seen impressive history museums in Budapest, London, Vienna and Warsaw, but this is the most comprehensive WW2 museum we’ve seen yet.

The museum lays out the “gathering storm,” factors that led to WW2, including America’s reluctance to engage even when we knew that horrific events were occurring in Europe. We learned more about Germany and Japan’s ambitions, including the attack on Pearl Harbor, their brutal treatment of Chinese civilians and later our POWs. Film reels captured America’s global response, our massive deployment to places most Americans had never heard of and the sacrifices women made on the battlefield and on the home front. We read about the need to fly military equipment over the treacherous Himalayas to China, known as “flying the Hump,” because that was the only way to transport materials to our troops in Asia. We learned why battles in North Africa were crucial proving grounds for American forces, and we heard the voices of Holocaust survivors liberated by young American soldiers. The museum paid special tribute to our brave Merchant Mariners who died at sea; today it’s incomprehensible to think about the thousands of American civilians killed when ships were regularly torpedoed by Germany. Higgins and PT boats played key roles in the D-Day invasion and also in the Pacific. (These boats were manufactured in New Orleans- still a point of pride for locals today.)

One special highlight was meeting some of the men who painstakingly worked to restore planes and ships, buying parts on EBay and locating old military equipment to restore the museum’s planes and boats to their original condition. The museum is truly a national treasure. It was well-worth returning a second day!

A huge thanks to Cassie, Constance and Caroline for making this mother/son trip extra special. 🇺🇸✈️❤️

Dr. Greg, the best pediatrician, collects food and necessities for the people of Appalachia. He’ll travel to what’s considered to the poorest county in America, in West Virginia.

Local pastors have asked him for help and are fortunate to have this doc with a heart of gold assist their community. Along the way, he sometimes photographs what life is like for those experiencing hardship. They haven’t given up hope.
