The beginning was giving “baby giraffe learning to walk.” Now look at those fancy feet! 😂🐾

Kaboom and I have been working on his prance on and off for about four weeks, and I’ll be honest—there were moments when I felt really discouraged. Yes, even trainers have those moments!

But look at my boy coming through. 🥹❤️

Here’s the training takeaway: reward the pieces that build the behavior. One good step matters. Better timing matters. Those little wins are how you get to the bigger picture.

If your dog is struggling, make the next step smaller and clearer. Keep sessions short, celebrate progress, and give yourself permission to take a break when frustration creeps in.

That polished “after” has plenty of awkward attempts behind it. So if you and your dog are still in your “before” stage, keep learning together. There’s progress worth celebrating along the way.

I feel like I can’t catch a breath… 💔 last night I got my heart broken again when I came home to another best friend crossing the rainbow 🌈 bridge 💔 My heart is aching, I feel defeated! This is my Third dog passing away less than a few months away from each-other. You always think you got time more time than you need! I’m so sad and heartbroken I can’t even understand what happened. Please say a prayer for this sweet soul and wish him well on his departure 💔😞 Thank you for letting me love you my best friend! I will see you again 💔 by @heavensentk9

A little over a year ago, I found a group of stray dogs with no one to call their own.

Today, one of them finally went home.

A wonderful client of mine and her mom opened their hearts, and today this sweet girl gets the life she always deserved.

I’ll admit, there were days when I questioned myself. I wondered if I was doing enough. I wondered how long they would have to wait. I wondered if they were spending too much of their lives waiting for someone to choose them.

Running a business, caring for my own dogs, and fostering so many others meant I couldn’t always spend as much one-on-one time with them as I wished. But one thing never changed: they were always safe. They always had food, fresh water, clean shelter, and someone who refused to give up on them.

Sometimes rescue doesn’t look glamorous. Sometimes it’s simply showing up every single day, even when progress feels invisible.

Today reminded me that waiting wasn’t wasted. It was simply leading her to the right family.

I truly believe that every soul you help in this lifetime leaves a blessing behind. And when I say “soul,” I mean exactly that. I don’t see dogs as “just animals.” I see them as living, feeling souls who experience love, fear, hope, and joy just as deeply as we do.

Seeing her walk into a home where she is wanted filled my heart in a way that’s hard to put into words.

Working on focused “Fuss” heeling with Kaboom. 🐾

With a busy schedule, I know better than anyone how hard it can be to make time for your own dogs. But when we do get the opportunity to train, we make every session count.

Great training isn’t just about showing up with a plan. It’s about showing up with the right attitude, communicating clearly, and paying attention to the dog in front of you. Every day is different. Some days your dog is full of energy, some days they’re thoughtful, distracted, or just not feeling their best.

My job isn’t only to tell Kaboom what I want. It’s also to listen to what he’s telling me.

The best training happens when both ends of the leash work together. Trust, communication, and teamwork create progress far better than force or frustration ever will.

This isn’t about control. It’s about connection under pressure.
Power means nothing if it’s loud, frantic, or forced. What you’re seeing here is calm authority. Presence. The kind of leadership that doesn’t need to raise its voice because it already knows where it stands.

Dogs aren’t following me out of fear or obedience. They’re choosing me because the bond is solid. Built through consistency, clarity, and trust. Day after day. Rep after rep. No shortcuts. No ego. Just work.

Strong dogs don’t need to be dominated. They need direction. They need someone steady enough to hold space for their power without trying to break it. That’s where respect lives. That’s where the real magic happens.
