🇪🇸 “Madre Coca” (15m x 5m).

Inspired by the Aymara concept of “chi’ixi”, as developed by Bolivian sociologist and historian Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui —the idea that opposing cultures can coexist without blending, in a productive and complementary tension—, this mural seeks to reflect that dialogue between the ancestral and the contemporary.

Through the contrast between a traditional figure and abstract forms that evoke digital maps and technological landscapes, I wanted to speak about that coexistence: the coca leaf, the rituals, and the living memory in a world that is constantly changing.

My deepest thanks to @bau.arteurbano for the invitation and their support, for hosting us at @proyecto.martadero along with such incredible artists, and for making possible this beautiful and intense week of artistic and human exchange.

“Missed Call” — painted for Festival Surreal — is an invitation to something that looks simple: lying down among the flowers, barefoot. Something that, in city life, has become rare, almost unreachable.

While I was painting, two neighbours stopped to look. I asked them if they could imagine doing it themselves. They said no — that their days went by running errands, cooking, working, cleaning.

That's exactly what I wanted to paint: an invitation to let oneself miss a call now and then.

@heavy.mentall – „The Heart of the Forest“ — details and process
📐10,5 × 10 m
📍Gnesener Straße 1, 28237 Bremen, Germany

What if we carried our childhood curiosity into adulthood? What if we looked at nature not as a collection of resources, but as a living presence to relate to and care for?

The forest has a heart, and it’s there to be discovered 🌳💚

Infinite thanks to the team for making this wonderful project happen, and to the Bremen community for receiving us.
