This year as the USA gears up to celebrate #america250, we’ve taken on a new gig for a few weeks. It’s a great summer job for Jackson (funding that travel ball experience!), and giving us a chance to sweat off some lbs (unintended advantages)!

The only photo I took of you today pretty much says it all.

14 years of loving Jack Jack the Incredible. He’s our go with the flow, life loving, country boy. It’s been a year of new things, challenges accepted, growth in all directions (mostly up- holy smokes at the jean lengths & shoe sizes we’ve gone through!), and a whole wild world ahead of him. Being a part of the @bearsbestatl Veterans Charity Golf Classic Committee is such a privilege. These guys show up monthly to work on this tournament, and today we showed up to celebrate our fearless leader. This tournament would never have happened without your leadership, we are all honored to call you our committee leader. This family tradition will always hold a special place in my heart. This morning, we walked in the Dacula Memorial Day Parade 🇺🇸 with Fallen Heroes of Georgia to honor my cousin Trey, who was killed in action in Iraq on July 15, 2007, along with so many other heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice.

I’m incredibly grateful my kids and family could be there to honor them together. Memorial Day will always feel bittersweet as we remember Trey while also celebrating my dad’s birthday. Walking in this parade is exactly where my dad would have wanted to be on his birthday.

I know he would be proud of his family for continuing to show up, remember, and honor these heroes year after year. I know he and Trey are celebrating together in Heaven today, but I sure do miss them both.
