$The rose that grew out the concrete🌹 I came across a limited amount of this chalkboard fabric - a material never intended for clothing, but for surfaces such as tables. I wanted to challenge that purpose by transforming it into garments. With the rose out of the concrete it symbolises beauty and growth emerging from unexpected places. To contrast the metaphor, I developed a dark, industrial silhouette with subtle punk influences. To reinforce the concept, I used a Dremel to cut away sections of the fabric, imitating the fractures and cracks in concrete as the rose forces its way through. The rose itself was drawn by hand in chalk, allowing the artwork to become part of the material’s original purpose while remaining temporary and imperfect. Cut & Sewn by me. by @hectaa$
