In My Flow State: Submissions, takedowns, wrestle ups, mistakes, corrections, flying stuff and post match hugs.Before this tournament, I told my teammates I truly didn’t care about winning or losing. At this stage of the journey, it’s about showing my art.My thoughts are: It’s not just what you do, it’s how you do it.So do it with style. Do it with grace. Jiu-Jitsu like any form of art should reflect who you are. Here the goal was simple. Stay loose and flow toward the path of least resistance. That’s what I try to get my students to focus on after they have moved past the basic learning phase of identifying positions and techniques.Of course… easier said than done. Confidence is built through years of trial and error. But once you break through?There’s nothing like it.That moment when you stop forcing things… when your body takes over…when decisions happen subconsciously before your opponent even has time to think. That’s the flow state. That’s my expression of what Jiu-Jitsu is all about. #CheckMat #AcademyJJ #JiuJitsuLife by @hectorobeltran

Beyond blessed to be doing what I love. This has been a difficult week due to a minor neck injury I’ve been quietly dealing with but I left this challenge in God’s hands.
