Day 242/365 ✅

My third official half marathon.

Mumbai Half Marathon completed. 21.1 kilometers of raw data, heavy legs, and a hard-earned lesson.

When I crossed the finish line and saw 2:12:04 flashing on the clock, a wave of pure frustration hit me. I wasn’t happy, not even close. Because deep down, I knew the truth: an easy sub-2 was entirely on the table. The fitness was there, the months of preparation were there, but the execution fell apart right at the finish line.

And a massive part of that story starts 24 hours before the starting gun. In hindsight, deciding to squeeze in a heavy speed interval training session just the day before a major race is the kind of tactical error that humbles you fast.

Standing at the start line with legs already carrying yesterday’s exhaustion is a brutal way to learn the art of tapering. I paid for it out on the course, mile by mile, watching a goal I knew I was capable of slip just out of reach.

For a little while, that stings. It’s hard not to look back and think about what could have been if I had just rested the day before. But every runner eventually learns that failure is just a loud teacher. Yesterday’s interval session was a lesson in recovery and race-week discipline. Today’s race was a lesson in pacing and execution. I’m taking both of them with me, locking them away as experience, and using the disappointment as fuel.

The sub-2 hasn’t gone anywhere. It’s still there, waiting for the day I put everything together cleanly, from the first training block to the final taper.

We don’t give up. We go back to the drawing board, fix the mistakes, and come back much stronger.

Still learning.
Still improving.
Still showing up.

Day 214/365 ✅

My second official half marathon.
21.1 kms done. 🏃🏻‍♂️

And honestly, this one humbled me.

The elevation was brutal.
The legs got heavy.
There were moments when I questioned whether I could keep going.

But somewhere along the way, running stopped being just about running.

It has taught me discipline.
It has taught me patience.
It has taught me to show up even when I don’t feel like it.
And most importantly — it has taught me to trust myself.

214 days ago, I was just trying to build a habit.

Today, I’m chasing half marathons, pushing my limits and slowly becoming a version of myself I’m genuinely proud of.

Forever grateful for everything running has given me — the people, the experiences, the confidence and most importantly, the mindset. ❤️

But we’re not done yet.

Next stop:
📍 Mumbai Half Marathon — 30 Aug 2026
🏃🏻‍♂️ TMM 2027 — 42.195 kms

From 5 kms every day to 42.195 kms someday.

Still learning.
Still improving.
Still showing up.

63 runs. 9 weeks. 400+ kilometres.

But this didn’t start on 1st Jan 2026.

Rewind to my 25th birthday.
I had this random idea — 25 years = 25 kms.
Reality?
Barely finished 12.5 kms.
Struggled. No training. No preparation. Just emotion.
But I didn’t feel proud.
I felt unfinished.

That evening, I made a quiet promise to myself, on my 26th birthday, I’ll run 26 kms. Properly. Strongly.

No one knew about that promise.

Fast forward to 1st Jan 2026.
A holiday. A random decision to step out.
I told myself, “Let’s just go for a short walk.”

That walk became a run.
That run became a habit.
That habit became a streak.

Fast forward to today — Day 64 of running every single day.

What started with zero expectations turned into discipline.
And discipline slowly turned into identity.

Some mornings were powerful.
Most mornings were ordinary.
Tired legs. Long office days. That voice saying, “Skip today.”

But I showed up.

Not because I was motivated.
But because I remembered how 12.5 kms felt.

Somewhere between those 400+ kilometres:
I lost 10 kgs.
I found my confidence again.
I stopped negotiating with myself.
I started respecting my own word.

Strangers cheering mid-run.
And slowly, I realised —
This isn’t about fitness anymore.

It’s about becoming the kind of person who doesn’t break promises to himself.

The goal is still simple.

12/04.
26 kms.
Running stopped being about distance.

Recent PBs:
5K – 27:41
10K – 1:00:38
15K – 1:36
21K – 1:53

Still learning. Still improving.
