The Hand That Knows2026, 40 x 30 in, acrylic on linenWhere 'What You May Already Know' found presence in absence — growth beginning in the quiet, unoccupied spaces — this work turns inward. More psychological, more intimate. Painted hand-first, mind last. At its center, a golden spiral opens — a portal to the vastness within all beings. The hand, it turns out, already knew.#biophilicdesign #ecologicaldesign #abstractportrait #contemporarycollectors #artcollectors by @heidi.e.keyes

I’m Heidi E. Keyes, a Toronto abstract painter creating ecological, intuitive paintings rooted in lyrical spiritualism, psychological landscape, and the quiet intelligence of the natural world. 🕊️My work explores atmosphere, memory, texture, and emotional resonance through layered abstraction and earth-based palettes inspired by stone, water, weather and light! This page is for gallerists, collectors, designers, and art lovers drawn to grounded, contemplative work — paintings that bring a sense of calm, presence, and depth into a space. If something here speaks to you, come & say hello. by @heidi.e.keyes

What you May Already Know,2025, 40 x 30 in, acrylic on linen (w/clear gesso). This work explores the tension between painted and unpainted space. At its center sits a seed-shaped area of raw linen—an intentional pause surrounded by flowing organic forms, flowers, and shifting colors. It reflects the idea that presence can emerge through absence, and that growth often begins in the quiet, unoccupied spaces within us. (My influences are Hilma Af Klint, Helen Frankenthaler, and Kristine Moran ) by @heidi.e.keyes

The larger studio offered an unexpected pause—a chance to step back and see this collection as a whole. Threads of botanical imagery, landscape, memory, and gesture have gradually revealed themselves, each work contributing to a larger conversation. I have six more on the go!I look forward to eventually sharing the collection and hope it offers viewers a moment of reflection, discovery, and delight.#ArtCollectors#InteriorDesign#ArtConsultant#ContemporaryArt#OriginalArtwork by @heidi.e.keyes

PachaAcrylic and mixed media on jute41.5 x 29 in., including border, 2026.Warmth, texture, calm ....This work was painted on a coffee sack — jute woven in Narsingdi, Bangladesh, filled with rainforest-certified coffee grown in the Andes of Peru. The material arrived in the studio already carrying its own history, geography, its own knowing, and imperfections.Pacha is a Quechua word from the Andean indigenous tradition — meaning earth, world, cosmos, and time. It felt like the only word true enough for what this surface had already experienced. The painting came quickly. Some works arrive already knowing what they need to say.#abstractpainting #Hilma #Picasso #jutepainting #Quechua by @heidi.e.keyes

A wonderful day back at the studio. My orchid did not die, nor did my other plants. I am painting four paintings at this time, and then four more. In the meantime I'm going to be reorganizing my studio again so it is much more effective with better storage for my works on paper. I also want to make it very pleasant for people who visit the studio. Did you know that I sent directly across from the kitchen? 🥂 I was thinking of bringing in my frother to the kitchen, so that I could have matchas instead of purchasing them as they can get quite expensive. Did you know I'm in the old Badminton and Racquet Club Suite? Sometimes me and my fellow artists break out into a Badminton game in the foyer! 🏸🏸🏸🏸🏸 by @heidi.e.keyes

Grateful this long weekend for thoughtful spaces where art, nature, and stillness can coexist.I’ve become increasingly interested in creating paintings that feel less like objects — and more like environments for reflection. by @heidi.e.keyes

Could porte-cochères become the next exhibition space for large-scale art and sculpture? I often imagine spaces like this as modern sanctuaries for art. A porte-cochère offers protection without separation from the natural world—light, landscape, architecture, and artwork existing together. Large paintings and sculpture can be experienced as part of daily life rather than confined to gallery walls.I particularly like the phrase "a gallery experience woven directly into architecture" for you my audience. My audience of gallerists, collectors, designers, and developers. by @heidi.e.keyes
