3 years ago today I was rushed into hospital with meningitis. In the week leading up to my admission I had a week of vomiting, night sweats where all my sheets were wet, pain in my head, neck and spine which was worst than labour pains and eventually photophobia and hallucinations. All this was put down to a virus and muscular problems. In A and E I needed fluid resuscitation as my blood pressure was so low, they couldn’t get any lines in me. My blood infection markers were through the roof. After 10 days of being in hospital and having to take two lots of morphine for pain I came home. I struggle daily with headaches, fatigue, spine pain and horrendous short term memory loss. I am so grateful to be alive and be there for my 3 kids. #meningitis #meningitissurvivor #meningitisawareness @meningitis_research @meningitis_now #knowthesymptoms by @heidit1980

It was Anyas first day back at stage school today. I’m a huge advocate in enabling my children to ‘shine’ and express themselves. There has been a huge increase in domestic violence since lockdown.
