I said goodbye to the natural born love of my life, my mother, on December 15. After 11 months of ups and downs and 4 hemorrhagic strokes, she was set free. You may be thinking it’s strange to memorialize someone on a day when many people are buying chocolate and going out to dinner, but what better day than one meant to bring forth gestures of love? She was full of them, everyday. Always making sure the people in her life knew how much they were loved by her. Whether it was a voicemail of just her playing a song on the radio, to calling and saying in her low baritone “what are you doing”, she made it clear you were always on her mind. And while it feels kind of weird to be sharing anything about her illness or passing in this digital hellscape, she deserves the world’s love. Even that wouldn’t be enough reimbursement for the absolute joy, affection, warmth, attitude, and generosity of spirit she afforded to everyone in her path. I love you, mom. 🐇 by @heidlegeist
