↗️„Erzählungen aus instabilen Zuständen“↘️Die aktuelle Ausstellung im T21, kuratiert von Heike Dempster, nähert sich ihrem Finale! Nach dem feierlichen Opening und dem anschließenden Artist Talk, bei dem @heikedempster gemeinsam mit den Künstlern Jakob Ritzkat und Santiago Archila Salcedo tiefere Einblicke in die Entstehungsprozesse und die theoretischen Hintergründe der Arbeiten gab, geht die Ausstellung nun in den Endspurt.Die von Heike Dempster konzipierte Gruppenschau untersucht das Spannungsfeld zwischen dem Spektralen, dem Mythischen und dem Psychologischen und zeigt, wie Körper und Identitäten in zunehmend instabilen Realitäten neu verhandelt werden. I am grateful for the opportunity to curate “Fading Boundaries” at @nodepressionroom in Munich, a space that supports experimentation and emerging artists. For this exhibition I selected works by artists @zahra_ghadimian @farbmorphen and Jiri Willemen, with an opening night performance by Zahra. As a summer memory gradually takes shape, images and thoughts drift into an underwater space where recollections blur, overlap, and transform. Reflecting on digital traces and the urge to preserve every fleeting moment, the work questions what memory truly retains. What remains is not the moment itself, but the space it leaves behind, carrying the feeling that it could return, altered by time.On view Saturday 11.7., 1–5pm @coffspaceAnia FreerRiva Maid, single-channel video installation, color, sound, 6:46 min, 2019.In Ania Freer’s “River Maid”, Dwight “Bobo” Hayes recounts childhood memories of Salome, a protective water spirit who abducted a woman in his village of Roaring River, Jamaica. Long shots of the surrounding waterways are cut between static portraits of Bobo and accompanied by a voiceover that weaves together memory, oral histories and folklore. The film touches on themes of intimacy, spirituality, healing and resistance.
