Roof as the Fifth Façade – Haus am Milchberg
In the centre of Kriebitzsch, the project transforms a 150-year-old agricultural building into a climate-resilient project and seminar house. Reuse and recycling are key principles in the approach to the existing building and its further development.
A deep roofed gallery has been added along the southern façade, offering a contemporary interpretation of the region’s characteristic timber-frame architecture. It creates a transitional space between inside and outside – shared with wind, weather and birds. At the same time, the extension performs important climatic and technical functions. In summer, it provides shade for the building and serves as a generous outdoor living area. In addition, the roof of the gallery accommodates the photovoltaic system. This allows the main roof to retain its architectural impact as the building’s fifth façade.

Completion Goerz-Hub Berlin

An industrial complex from the 1920s in Berlin’s Zehlendorf district has been transformed into a forward-looking innovation hub. The three-storey timber hybrid extension added to the formerly two-storey existing structure created approximately 5,000 square metres of new workspace for companies emerging from the university research environment.
The project exemplifies how resource-efficient densification and circular construction can be successfully combined.
We are delighted that the project has been selected for the "da!Architektur in und aus Berlin-Exhibition 2027" organized by the @architektenkammer_berlin

Transformation Gutshof Güldenhof Our Gutshof Güldenhof project was nominated for this year’s @rear_award in the Transformation category and made it onto the shortlist. While it unfortunately did not receive an award this time, we are grateful for the recognition and appreciation of this very special place.
First launched this year, the award recognises projects across German-speaking countries that sensitively adapt or extend existing buildings, thereby fostering a culture of continued building, repair, and reuse.
With the Gutshof Güldenhof, a long-abandoned 18th-century agricultural complex has been transformed for a Vietnamese-Danish conceptual artist into a vibrant place for art, sustainable living, and social interaction.
