I’ve invested more than you’ll ever know into the farm- probably more than I’ll ever even know. I couldn’t be where I am today without the support of everyone who shares the value of my mission. #biodynamic #womanowned #mngrown #squashthepatriarchy #organicfarming #farm #smallfarm by @heirloomista

Last month I had the opportunity to welcome members of Parliament from Vanuatu to the farm.

Vanuatu is an island nation made up of more than 80 islands, where small-scale & subsistence farming are central to community life. The delegation came to learn about how small farms can grow a diverse viariety of food on small parcels and and reach more people through the cooperative model.

Building food systems is important work, and I find it incredibly encouraging that small farms like mine can share knowledge and systems that work with farmers across the globe.

At a time when big ag is so damn big, it’s empowering to see nimble food farmers adapt and innovate to build stronger food systems.

And of course, what’s a stop at the farm without some farm soda? by @heirloomista

The last year and a half has been a long, brutal process of refiguring out what I am capable of. There are many days where I don’t want to be in the wild because people’s perception of me doesn’t match my new reality, and bringing people to speed is a painful reminder of this process. But without all y’all holding space and keeping the spirit alive I simply don’t know what I’d be doing.

It was an absolute joy being able to feed you ❤️ Thank you for being in community with me. by @heirloomista

When the publishing and editorial team read The Table We Set by Kelsey of @heirloomista we were left speechless and with goosebumps. Her writing perfectly summarized how many of us felt during the early stages of 2026.

Kelsey, thank you for sharing your writing talent with the Edible Minnesota community. We’re grateful to have you part of the local foods community here in Minnesota constantly advocating for local farmers and producers.

Support Kelsey by stopping by an upcoming @millcityfarmersmarket or check out her website heirloomista.com

The last year has been challenging for me. With everything happening right now in Minnesota, it’s been a reminder of how important it is to find comfort where you can.

For me, that’s been the farm — harvesting, making things and slowing down.

Sharing a small moment of that here. Hoping this 35 second reel gives you a fleeting moment of peace and a reminder that there are good things happening in the chaos. taken in Heirloomista by @heirloomista

It feels strange to share the farm right now, so far removed from the heart of the metro. And yet, we know the times in Minnesota are heavy.

But some things haven’t changed: the needs of farmers, the human need for food, beauty and connection to the land.

If you want to offer a little love and care to yourself or a friend, I gently offer Heirloomista: Seasonal Collection — a treasure box from the farm to you. taken in United States by @heirloomista

From icy Minnesota, a reminder: January’s ice might bite, but indifference freezes far more. by @heirloomista

This morning I opened a jar of crabapple butter I made last fall with a friend. It was a reminder that food doesn’t just exist. It exists because we show up, because we participate.

Every ingredient, every jar, every bite carries labor and connection. Local food systems work this way—they only work when we are part of them.

Let’s be real though, this extends beyond food. We need each other now more than ever. I’m just a farmer so I see the world through the lens of my work on the farm.. but if the jars remind me of anything, it’s that we are not here alone in this world. taken in Minnesota by @heirloomista
