POSTS STORIES REELS

Hi! I'm Sue, proprietor of Heirloompages.
Connecting with you over great books is a dream come true. This bookshop has percolated in my heart since 5th grade, when I received my first vintage book "Silver Pennies".
This month marks 5 years of moving a heart dream to the reality of Heirloompages. Officially launching the shop in April, a few months later. Whether it is acquiring, researching, selecting themes, book hunting special requests, or packaging your heirlooms - I enjoy it all!
But most of all, I love connecting with you - hearing about your book collections, your lives and praying for your needs. It is my heart's desire that you enjoy life and thrive.
I know I say it often, yet it remains true: It is a joy to serve you!
.
If I can help you, please reach out in messages.

Vintage Christmas, Christmas books, Christmas treasures, vintage books, antique books, vintage magazines, ephemera, vintage Christmas cards by @heirloompages

Many women (and men) suffered, were physically harmed, ridiculed, imprisoned, institutionalized in asylums and some even lost their lives so that other women - generations later - could vote!
.
This is not about parties, politics or personal preferences - this is about remembering what was done to get us to this privilege.
.
If you have not voted yet, do your research and cast your vote. Honor the suffragettes who made that happen for you!
.
Ephemera is from my personal collection. NFS

GRAPHIC HISTORY
Victorian Children
.
By Graham Ovenden & Robert Melville
.
C.1972
Academy Editions
LONDON
.
Nostalgia for a lost age of innocence lay at the heart of the Victorian cult of childhood. A cult whose idol was the girl child "made of sugar and spice and all things nice." That children were starved, exploited and prostituted on a scale we find difficult to comprehend did not seem to affect this resolutely roseate image. A discussion of the Victorian attitude of children and all its curious ambiguities and contradictions.
WARNING: Book contains graphic as part of the research. Although typical of the time and research, they are graphic.
.
Includes article from National Geographic on Lewis Carroll, as found. Frontispiece. Bookplate on front end page. Highly illustrated with reproductions of original photographs. Strong binding with shelf wear. DJ has tears on top edge.
.
