𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟵𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟯𝟬𝘁𝗵, 𝗺𝘆 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗻 𝗢𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗯𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 (𝗢𝗢𝗥𝗖) 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

The event brought together 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺-𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 who are passionate about creating meaningful impact and providing solutions to challenges within Ogbomoso.

𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟭 focused on helping teams gain a deeper understanding of the problems they were solving across sectors such as 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆.

𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮 was all about turning ideas into action. We developed prototypes, refined our value propositions, and mapped out clear implementation pathways for our solutions.

The highlight of the event was the 𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, where 𝟭𝟭 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 presented their innovations. I am delighted to share that 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝘆𝗳𝗲 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝗻𝗱-𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿.

🏆 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝘆𝗳𝗲 – 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲, 𝗢𝗢𝗥𝗖 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Our solution, 𝗖𝘆𝗳𝗲, is a 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗴𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 designed to detect gas leaks, monitor gas levels, and send real-time alerts to users. The idea was inspired by the increasing cases of gas leakages and explosions in hostels, homes, and business environments.

One part of our journey that makes this achievement even more meaningful is that we almost did not participate in the Ideathon because 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁.

Despite the setback, we chose to show up, give our best, and trust God through the process. By His grace and mercy, 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀.

This experience taught me an important lesson:

Last week Saturday, I had the opportunity of volunteering in 𝗜𝗘𝗘𝗘 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 and participating in their Hackathon.

My team and I Rosemary Ojoawo, Fariz Adedeji pitched our innovation called Cyfe which is a Smart Gas Monitoring which helps to mitigate the issues of gas leakage and explosion. This idea was inspired as a result of massive losses that gas leakages and explosion has caused it environment.

At the end of the Hackathon we came out with 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 and this position serves as motivation for us to do more.

I want to say a huge thank to IEEE Lautech Student Branch and the chairman Akinyemi Uthman (MIEEE,MIAENG) ,Vice Chairman Oladipupo Olamoyegun and the organizer's for this wonderful event that has impacted engineers and promote innovation among students.

I am truly excited to be among the top 10 winners of the 234 Project (third stage) and to have qualified for the final stage of the 234 Community Impact Challenge. It has been a journey of learning, growth, and mindset development, all aimed at making an impact and nurturing future leaders, innovators, and sustainable business models.

I still remember being a child who loved 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝘇𝗲—watching it sprout, grow, and come to life. There was something fascinating about seeing a 𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹. At the same time, I was always imagining things—𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝘆𝗲𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀𝘁.

That curiosity has stayed with me.

Last year, I took a step further and began learning 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀. Since then, I’ve been able to bring some of those ideas to life—designing an aircraft (𝗕𝗼𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟳𝟳𝟳-𝟯𝟬𝟬𝗘𝗥), Quadcopter drone, and most recently, 𝗔 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗜𝗕𝗟𝗘 𝗣𝗟𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗢𝗥.

This tractor is made up of 𝟰𝟰 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 and 𝟭𝟱 𝘀𝘂𝗯-𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀. Some of the components I designed include the 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲, 𝘁𝘆𝗻𝗲𝘀, 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗮𝗴𝗲, 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗸, 𝗯𝗼𝗹𝘁𝘀, 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰 𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵, 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗯𝗮𝗸𝗹𝗲, 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗯𝗮𝗸𝗹𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝘆𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀.

Working on this project has significantly strengthened my understanding of 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴. It has also shown me how powerful design tools can be 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆.

I’m truly grateful to @SOLIDWORKS for providing a platform where engineers can turn ideas into reality.
