When I started Held Between Pages, I wanted a wee space to share the books I’m reading, my love of coffee, island life, little everyday moments and all the bits of life that happen between the pages. ☕️📖🌊

Vision Board 2026 🧿✨

Happy Saturday ♥️
 I’ve spent my afternoon listening to Funny Story by @emilyhenrywrites while creating my vision board for 2026, and honestly… I loved every second of it 📖✨

For a little context 🤍
 I live on a small Scottish island with my partner, our two boys (9 & 15), and our dog 🐾 Our home sits right on the seafront, so the beach is part of our everyday life in every season. Autumn beach days will always have my heart 🌊🍂

This year I really want to do more of the things that bring us genuine joy. To make time for moments that feel a little bit magical ✨ It’s not always easy with us both working full-time, but we try our best to carve out those pockets of time together.

I’m also that mum 📚😂 - constantly buying books I’ve heard are engaging for boys their age and hoping one day they’ll fall in love with reading the way I have. No luck yet… but that won’t stop me trying.

I work in Early Years and I’m really trying to reignite my passion for the sector. I absolutely love the children and I’m so passionate about outdoor learning 🌿, but the paperwork side can really drain the magic from what should feel so special. I might start sharing some books here that I feel genuinely benefit young children 🤍

And of course… Nesta had to be included in the vision board 🖤🔥

Flat calm sea, the softest skies and a wee reminder of why I love living on an island. 🥹🌊

As much as I love a bit of sunshine, there’s something about watching the sea on a stormy day that just hits differently. The waves, the moody skies, the sound of the wind outside… and being tucked up inside with a good book and a hot coffee. ☕️📖🍂

Today might be calm, but I’m ready for the moody skies, wild seas, blankets, candles and getting completely lost in a book while the storm rolls in outside. 🌧️🌊📚

Nostalgia, a stormy day and snacks🐾💿

Tell me why the arrival of two DVDs has made me feel like a kid again. 🥹🧡

Scooby-Doo (2002) and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004) have officially arrived, and honestly… THE SOUNDTRACKS?! UNMATCHED. 🎶🤌🏻

These films were such a big part of growing up for me. The nostalgia, the outfits, the ridiculousness, the music… everything about them just hits differently. 🧡💚💜

And this is exactly why I love physical media. There’s something so lovely about owning the films you adore, having them arrive in the post, opening them up and knowing they’re yours to watch whenever you fancy a little trip down memory lane. 💿✨

So, on this wet and stormy day, we’ve got snacks at the ready, the movies are going on, and I’m introducing my son to a little piece of my childhood. 🥹🍿🐾

A cosy movie afternoon, a house full of snacks, and hopefully a new fan of Mystery Inc. by the end of it. 😂💜

Because some films never lose their magic… and apparently neither do their soundtracks. 🎶🫶🏻

❤️‍🔥📚 Kingdom of Ash - SPOILERS📚❤️‍🔥

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ if I could give it all the stars in the universe, I would.

KINGDOM OF ASH HAS MY WHOLE HEART ♥️

This book broke me. It fulfilled me. It left me emotionally exhausted in the best possible way, and I honestly think a little piece of my soul will forever live within the pages of this series. 🥹🤎

What a journey. WHAT. A. JOURNEY.

I’ve laughed, cried, fallen in love with these characters, wanted to throw my book across the room and then immediately pick it back up again. 😂😭

And now it’s over.

I’m not ready. I don’t think I’ll ever be ready.

Can we PLEASE talk about Manon Blackbeak for a minute?! 🖤🐉

MY GAL. MY QUEEN. MY FAVOURITE.

I absolutely adore her. Her character development, her strength, her loyalty and the way she learns what it means to love and to belong… she has my whole heart. 🥹🖤

And THE THIRTEEN. 😭

Icons. Legends. I will not hear otherwise.

“You will not find them in this sky or any other.”

EXCUSE ME WHILE I GO AND CRY ALL OVER AGAIN. 😭😭😭

The Thirteen deserved the world. They fought for a better world, for a future they might never get to see, and I genuinely don’t have the words for how much that destroyed me.

All for a better world. 🖤

And that’s what makes this series so special to me. Beneath all the magic, the battles, the heartbreak and the impossible odds, it’s about love, friendship, sacrifice, found family and fighting for something bigger than yourself.

It’s about the people who stand beside you when everything seems lost. The ones who become your home. The ones you would burn the world for.

I wasn’t ready to say goodbye, which is exactly why I kept putting this book down when I was halfway through. I knew finishing it meant leaving these characters behind, and I just couldn’t bring myself to do it.

But what an ending. What a series. What a world to have been part of. 🥹❤️‍🔥

📚🤎 A Little Library Trip 🤎📚

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how underrated a trip to the local library is?! 🥹📚

The peace.
The calm.
The silence.
The rows and rows of books just waiting to be discovered. 🤎

Honestly… my idea of a lovely afternoon. 😂☕️📖

I had a little browse and, of course, I couldn’t leave empty handed. 🙈

So these two came home with me:

📖 Magnolia Parks - Jessa Hastings 🌸

The Shining has been on my October hopefuls, so I’m very excited to finally get stuck into it. 👀🖤

And Magnolia Parks… I’ve heard SO much about this one, so I’m intrigued to see what all the fuss is about. 👀📚

☕️📖 Iced Coffee and Kindle on a grim day🤎🌧️

Honestly, is there anything better than an iced coffee, your Kindle and absolutely no need to go anywhere on a miserable Monday afternoon? 🥹☕️📚

The weather is grim, the coffee is iced (because apparently the weather does not dictate my coffee choices 😂) and I’m making some VERY good progress through House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas. 🌙✨

Currently sitting at 48% and getting properly stuck in! 👀📖

Was it a BOLD choice to finish Kingdom of Ash that morning and jump straight into Crescent City?

Absolutely. 😂❤️‍🔥

Did I even consider giving myself a little breather between series?

Nope. Straight in. 🤣

I think I’m still processing Kingdom of Ash, to be honest. 🥹😭 That book has left me with a LOT of feelings, and I’m not sure I’m quite ready to put them into words yet.

But don’t worry… that review will be coming SOOOON. ❤️‍🔥📚

For now, I’m fully immersed in House of Earth and Blood, trying to work out where this story is going and wondering why I voluntarily put myself through these emotional rollercoasters. 😂🤎

Anyway, enough about my fictional friends…
