Ok so this is a slight cop-out for Week 27 of #inktober52 as I didn’t really like the prompt #mangled
😬But I do love waking to messages from sweet Canadians suggesting fun things for me! So here we go @death_before_decaf__ let’s get Badfish!
But not mangled ones like this turned out on my hand! 😉

So my next step is to decide on a tattoo artist to go to..
I would love to hear recommendations as finding new artists is always fun! Anyone local get new ink recently? Share your favourite tattoo shops and artists here please!!

Oh what I’d give for one more dance ☺️
Last week being Dad’s birthday and Father’s Day up north, it was no surprise when the Inktober prompt coordinated too!💫

So who else fondly remembers dancing on their dad’s feet?! That puppet-like feeling as your legs lift without effort and you move awkwardly yet gracefully together across the shag pile rug to some groovy tune, hoping not to stomp and make the record skip… 😊Good times ☺️💫💙

This arvo we went and watched Aedan’s first gig! Hosted at a cool little venue in Collingwood @wheat_winewhisky as part of a 3-day event. Lovely staff, yummy drinks, perfect hot chippies 👍😬
He’s filling in for the lead singer of Dehumanizer for a few gigs so has spent the past month or so making his way to Laverton on the opposite side of the bay and back again. Today, we understood why! These kids rock!! They’re all teenagers, Aedan may be the eldest, but yeah ‘just’ kids- ridiculously talented kids, even though it’s not my usual taste in music, I can clearly see the skill and commitment shown by these guys.
So while everyone seems to be bitching about teenagers in our society, here’s evidence that they can work together to develop skills, creativity and connections with their community. Seriously, I’m so proud!
Admittedly I have no idea of the lyrics, but the vibe was awesome! I met his band mates after and they were all sweet, polite & lovely guys, all with great hair!
So yeah, while they may sound onstage like they’re angry, and maybe slightly possessed, they are excellent examples of good humanning!

It’s always tricky deciding what to enter into art shows! This year for @derinya_dace I have submitted a series of mixed media Australian Native animals that evolved from a leaf & plant-based painting workshop that then inspired me to incorporate my linocuts with my acrylics!
They include “Leadbeater Sunrise” our sweet Victorian state emblem in a banksia, “Numbat Lunchtime” including WA’s state animal and plant- The Numbat and Kangaroo Paw. “Wombat Sunrise”, South Australia’s emblem, includes lovely blue gums, and “Midnight Echidna” is set under a mighty River gum. The last pic is an intuitive abstract acrylic piece that evolved into “Marcellus” after reading “Remarkably Bright Creatures “.
