Meine geliebte Pnina ist heute Nacht verstorben. Tief berührt hat sie mein Herz, mich inspiriert in meinem Sein durch ihre große Liebe zum Leben und allen lebenden Wesen. Wo auch immer sie hinging hinterließ sie die Welt ein klein wenig freundlicher, ein klein wenig menschlicher. Nach all den Schrecken die sie im Holocaust erlebte, entschied sie sich in ihrem Leben seitdem in jedem Moment neu für die Liebe. So viele wunderbare Momente durfte ich mit ihr erleben. Unser Eintauchen ins Tote Meer, unser Spaziergang durch den Schnee, das Schlittern über den zugefrorenen See, tiefe Gespräche morgens am Frühstück, so viele Umarmungen und Küsse, unsere Ausstellungseröffnungen und langen Spaziergänge. Ich werde dich Vermissen Pnina! by @helenaschaetzle

My latest project „Children of the mist“ took me deep into the heart of New Zealand. I was allowed to deeply connect with New Zealands land, it’s nature, spirit and people. A huge honor it was to spend several weeks with Maori wisdom keepers. Beautiful people, standing strong, speaking their truth, being beyond this limited physical world, so strongly connected to their Pepeha, their mountains, rivers and land. I am extremely grateful for the time I was allowed to spend in this in incredible land. #MaoriCulture #Maori #NewZealand #Aotearoa #Journey #Nature #Taupo #Hukafalls by @helenaschaetzle

80 Jahre nach der Befreiung der Überlebenden der Shoah ist das Erinnern nicht vorbei – es lebt, es schmerzt, es verändert sich.

Der Film „Memories of the Present“ von Helena Schätzle und Nirman Chowdhury nimmt uns mit auf eine eindringliche Reise zu den Stimmen der Überlebenden und ihrer Kinder in Israel.

Es sind Geschichten voller Verletzbarkeit und Kraft – über das Weiterleben nach dem Unfassbaren, über Erinnerung, die nicht nur zurück, sondern auch nach vorn wirkt. Wenn sie Gegenwart ist – und Zukunft gestaltet.

Szenen des Films entstanden mit Klient*innen von AMCHA und in einigen der AMCHA-Zentren, die die Regisseurin über viele Jahre hinweg begleitet hat.

„Memories of the Present“ soll voraussichtlich 2026 seine Festivalpremiere feiern.

Today on the International Womens Day I want to give my deepest respect to all women like Maya who stand up and carry the light even in the darkest times. I am grateful to have met so many amazing women who have inspired me, I am grateful for all the women who walked before me.

Mine and Sudharak Olwe's new book is being printed today. We started working on it in 2007 and I am extremely happy, that finally it's finally getting released. This book portrays Indian women who have opened their hearts, shared their lives, showed their wounds and allow their stories of struggle and empowerment to be told.
