Forgotten Futures (4/7)

Silent Requiem

Hidden in the forests of northwestern Bosnia,
on the slopes of Mount Grmeč, lies a powerful and mysterious monument, now nearly forgotten.

Built in 1979 to honor Yugoslav Partisan fighters of WWII,
the site was once an immersive memorial: two marble
domes rising like a blooming flower, symbolizing freedom.
A model of the landscape stood at its heart, lit from above, evoking the secret hospital once hidden in these woods.

Over time, the plaques vanished. The forest reclaimed the paths. The crowds are long gone. Silence has taken over.

Grmeč was meant to embody unity and remembrance. Today, it stands between ruin and rebirth, a quiet reminder that memory is never fixed. It fades, resurfaces, and transforms.

If you stop and listen, the forest still speaks.

Forgotten Futures ( 1 / 7 ) Forget Your Past

The full session is now available on my YT.

Mount Bouzloudja, Bulgaria.

Here, the wild nature and the past merge,
vibrating with a unique energy that emanates
from buried memories and past battles.

At the summit of this mountain stands the Monument
of Bouzloudja, an imposing brutalist structure.
This monumental edifice dominates the landscape
with an almost supernatural force, evoking both the
grandeur and the contradictions of a bygone era.

However, the energy of this place goes far beyond the monument and what it represents. Mount Bouzloudja is a sanctified mountain, holding a central place in Bulgarian national mythology.

are almost finished,and new series,

Some experiences come to life in silence,
while others are born through encounters.

Over the past two days in Pau, two different moments,
yet deeply connected by the same pursuit.

First, an audiovisual performance at the Pavillon des Arts,
shaped over time, taking on a new dimension on stage through a creative synergy with @chaliskpito.

A meeting of different sensibilities, where sound, image, and space become fragments of a single language.

Then, at the École supérieure d’art et de design des Pyrénées, a masterclass entitled “Listening Before Creating.”

For two hours, I traced the threads of a journey
woven from forgotten places, silences, unexpected encounters, and chance.

An invitation to question the way we perceive the world, and the space we allow for the unknown within the creative process.

Looking back on these years of wandering also meant realizing how deeply the places we move through eventually move through us.

And how creating is sometimes less about giving form to what we imagine than about welcoming what seeks to emerge.

Two moments, two expressions of the same quest:
listening to what so often remains invisible.

Some moments don’t belong entirely to the past.

They continue to exist somewhere within us, quietly transforming, finding their place among the invisible
things we carry.

These fragments were captured by @luciesphoto last August at @detect_classic_festival, Schloss Bröllin. Two months have passed, yet something of that moment still resonates.

I often think of creation as a way of listening to what cannot quite be expressed. An attempt to give form to the intangible, to make room for what lies between memory, silence, and the unknown.

Next week, these explorations will take me back to Pau, where I’ll be sharing two different moments of the same journey.

Sometimes, moving forward means stripping things back.

Leaving behind some of what we know. Loosening our grip on what has become familiar. Returning to a place where the hands hesitate again.

Lately, I have been reducing my instrument. Making space. Changing its architecture. Letting unfamiliar paths emerge.

There is something precious in not knowing.

Perhaps this is where the artist
and the researcher become the same person,  somewhere between intuition and observation, listening for something that has no name yet.

With time, gestures become familiar. Paths begin to repeat themselves. And sometimes, we need to dismantle our own language
until all that remains is a pulse, a current, something we no longer entirely recognize.

So I return to the laboratory.

Smaller. Less certain. Listening again.

Water has its own memory.
Electricity, perhaps, has one too.

On the banks of the Gave de Pau, I explored the Stylophone DS-2, letting its dissonant oscillations meet the continuous movement of the river.

Two currents, in different forms.
One flowing through stone and light, the other through circuits and sound.

Perhaps both are moved by the same invisible force;
passing through matter, transforming it,
connecting what we see to what we can only feel.

Patch Note :

The Stylophone DS-2 was recorded first, performing the dissonant sequence at the heart of the piece. The modular synthesizer was recorded separately afterwards, creating the surrounding textures, harmonic tensions, and additional layers.

Every new instrument is an invitation.

An invitation to listen before playing,
to follow rather than to lead.

For this piece, the Stylophone Gen X-2 became the starting point. Around it, my modular synthesizers slowly unfolded a landscape of textures, echoes and gentle movement.

What emerged wasn’t a demonstration,
but a conversation.

Patch note:

The Stylophone Gen X-2 was recorded first, performing the repeating arpeggio at the heart of the piece and processed through the Microcosm pedal. The modular synthesizer
was recorded separately afterwards, creating the textures, harmonic layers, and the closing arpeggio.

When does performing become transforming?

French composer, sound designer and visual artist @helenevogelsinger creates immersive worlds with modular synthesizers, sound, and image. For Silent Requiem, she traveled to the forests of northwestern Bosnia, where the Grmeč Memorial, a monument to honor Yugoslav Partisan fighters of WWII, now stands reclaimed by nature.

Once a place of collective remembrance, today it exists somewhere between remembrance and rebirth. As the forest slowly takes back the site, memory itself seems to transform.

We are excited to welcome Hélène Vogelsinger to detect classic 2026 and to see how she will transform the spaces of Schloss Bröllin.

Every place carries its own resonance.

On June 16, it was the Stuttgart Library:
a space shaped by stories, curiosity,
and attentive listening.

I set up my modular system there for a new sonic exploration, surrounded by an audience whose presence and attention made the experience truly special.

Migration of Sound 🕊️

Tomorrow, I’ll be in Stuttgart
for the @aboutpopfestival

Once again, this whole little world is coming along
for the journey: modular synthesizers, cables, happy accidents, and sonic landscapes waiting to emerge.

Every performance begins long before stepping
onto the stage. There’s the careful loading of the car,
the meticulous organization of this fragile electronic ecosystem, and then the road itself.

A temporary migration of my studio into another space, another acoustic environment, another way of listening.

I’m looking forward to sharing this new journey with you.

Stuttgart, see you tomorrow.

Fonorama

Thank you to everyone who attended last Saturday’s
concert at @officinasantachiara for this suspended
and deeply meaningful moment.

I was profoundly moved by your listening, your presence,
and the quality of the shared silence surrounding the vibrations of Organo Motore.

Each concert is a unique journey, shaped by the space,
the acoustics, the machines, but above all by the human attention circulating through the room.

My deepest thanks to the Officina SantaChiara team
for their generous and caring welcome, and to the @associazioneculturaleorigami @simonesimslongo
who invited and supported me throughout this experience with trust and sensitivity.
