This is a tribute to those who stand up to defend the freedom that many often take for granted. Paying a heavy toll for their sacrifice, but will always be remembered and honored. This song was released on world Kobanê day to honor the legacy of the Kobanê resistance.

My Song lori…my thoughts go to my homeland to friends, relatives and all those affected by the massive earthquakes in Syria and Turkey. the devastation is enormous. Schools, hospitals and people's homes have been reduced to piles of rubble. Many people living in the affected region were already living in vulnerability before the earthquake as they fled the brutal war in Syria. please keep donating money to @rodasolen @lakareutangranser @helpkurdistan @chooselove
It's so sad to see how the people there are still suffering after all they've been through. I can't imagine what they must be going through right now, it just breaks my heart. My thoughts go out to all mothers and fathers who lost their children 🎈

International Women’s Day – Music, Motherhood and Our Stories

Tonight on stage I was asked about my plans for the future with music. It’s a question that touches something very deep in me.

Of course, I want to continue writing and creating music — giving life to our stories through songs. Music carries memories, emotions, and the voices of people who came before us. It keeps our stories alive.

At the same time, life is quite intense. I am a mother of three children and I work full time, which means that creativity sometimes has to find its place in the small moments between everyday responsibilities.

But hopefully, a little further ahead, I would love to record a new album. And I would especially love to collaborate more with female songwriters — women who want to write, create, and share stories together.

On this International Women’s Day, I also want to take a moment to honor women everywhere in the world — women who create, nurture, resist, lead, and continue to dream despite challenges.

And I want to send a special tribute to Kurdish women, whose strength, courage, and resilience continue to inspire so many of us. Your voices, your stories, and your struggle for dignity and freedom matter.

Today, and every day, we celebrate the power of women’s voices. InternationalWomensDay

I speak not only with my voice,
but with the weight of generations.

We were divided by borders we never drew.
Persecuted.
Imprisoned.
Massacred.
And then told to forget.

But we never did.

History does not fade.
It repeats itself.

Today, the Kurdish people are more united than ever.
Our truth is simple.
Our choice is clear.

Yan mirin – yan neman.
Either we die, or we exist.
Either we are erased, or we continue to stand.

Rojava is not an accident.
It is the result of a long struggle for dignity.

Built by women and men
who refused submission.
Who refused silence.

More than 15,000 lives were given
in the fight against ISIS —
so the world could breathe,
so humanity could remain human.

You may forget.
We do not.

When dignity is under attack,
silence is betrayal.

So I call on you —
Kurds,
friends of the Kurdish people,
human rights defenders,
feminists,
people of faith,
all who choose life over fear
and justice over comfort.

Stand with us.
Remember with us.
Resist with us.

Join us on January 31st, 1- 18 pm in Bonn.

Rojava is not alone. #rojava❤️☀️💚_kurdistan🇭🇺 by @helinaroofficial

Silav ,
I have a request for you, my dear ones.
Zaxo SC has been nominated by FIFA for the Best Fans Award — the first team from the Middle East to receive such an honour.
Their fans recently showed their support for cancer patients by throwing teddy bears onto the pitch before the match against Al-Hedood at Zakho International Stadium.
My family and I have voted — now I’m sharing the link so you can do the same.
As Mandela said: “It always seems impossible until it’s done.” Let’s make it happen💫 #FIFAFanAward #zakhosc🇮🇶 #zaxosc
