The parents went out…💃🏾😊! While working from home we spend lots of time with the kids. But bayyy-be when we’re alone (home or out) I’m always reminded of how much we “really” enjoy “each other”. QT is so valuable in marriage.

And in these moments we have the most enjoyable conversations, remember the most random events or facts, & bond in new ways. Like book📚 club…😆 stay with me! I asked him to read The Art of War together because I heard it in 2 movies we watched last week and he agreed 💃🏾. 10 years ago, we both would never have been interested. Even now, I believe he’d rather watch paint dry, but we’ve grown lol. I say all that to say, be intentional about remembering it all started with TWO. More specifically don’t allow the rhythms of life to dictate how wealthy your union is. Responsibilities will always be there, duties will change & children grow up & leave. Do new things…together! Do uncomfortable things…together! Do challenging things…together! Do simple things…& grow together!

I bet you didn’t know it when we met, but it didn’t take me long to realize that I would be your wife. Your gentle strength, wisdom and humility drew me in. When we first spoke, you weren’t smooth nor refined and I’m sure my hair was nappy and I lacked grace 😉, precisely what you’d expect from kids. But this awkward encounter and unorthodox introduction was the beginning of forever. It brought us here, together...the best place on earth. What I love the most, is deep down we’re still those teenagers, still awkward and ordinary, giggling, playing, dreaming...living an extraordinary life with 3 beautiful girls. Couldn’t be more excited for 95 more 🎉.

Late post: I celebrated a birthday a few weeks ago🥳...
I dreamt of celebrating in a big way, for the last three years. But with plans & agendas aborted, being safe, healthy 🙌🏾, happy and together was all that mattered. All I needed was a fun, relaxing, unscheduled, late mornings, no flights, no shopping, no timelines, no reservations, staycation with hubby. It was thee best way to bring 35 in 🙃, thanks COVID.

The perfect example of “Man plans but God laughs” 😅. It’s the unexpected things that are consistently unbelievable, magical even! Consider this a challenge, to look around you with fresh eyes and see where you’re minimizing the big impact of the small things. Your home, job, family, kids, friends, health, a sound mind, a new day, your significant other...you’re already blessed.

Listen, I get to say for more reasons than one that I am blessed, and He has won AGAIN🙌🏾🙏🏾!!!! Thank you Lord for 35!

My daughter taught me something today with a simple @barbie doll. Granted it’s something life has already taught us as adults, but we often forget. That If given the right amount of focus, patience and willpower, we can truly accomplish anything! No skill or training required. Just an idea and a firm belief in the goal 💪🏾. No matter how long it takes, or challenging the terrain, we can navigate to victory if we persevere with the goal in mind.

Watching this doll transform reminded me that nothing is totally lost to God. He gives us “Beauty For Ashes- (Isa. 61:3)” 🙌🏽🥰. He’s a rewarder of good things. He does wonders with things & people the world has cast away as worthless. Because let me tell you, that’s exactly where she would have landed had I seen what the 6yr old did.

Moral of the story, keep believing! Maybe your vision needs a new set of eyes to see its beauty 🤷🏾‍♀️. Faith as small as a mustard seed is all you need, He gives the strength and also sends the rain for the harvest 🙌🏽. Tag someone who needs some inspiration to keep going.

Under normal circumstances #adulting makes us oblivious to life happening right in front of us. So when my kids came up with one great idea after another, it made for a fun nostalgic weekend. I’m talking card games, trivia, board games, pool & backyard fun. The best part was this evening’s formal invite to a kids pick the movie, movie night in the living room. They previously gave us tickets, which they scanned at the door 🤣.

They reaaally took me back! To when fun, laughter & healthy competition formed great memories & #childhoods. I enjoyed not checking off a todo list, and focusing on the people & moments that matter. Psalm 127:3 says it best, “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb is His reward.” I’m truly blessed 🙌🏽. .
