Meet the maker! Hello 👋 I’m Miranda and it’s officially been 1 year since I started knitting 🎉 I’m wearing the piece I’m most proud of so far: the Richmond Park Sweater by @celinetteknits 🧡 When I was first learning to knit, I was practicing on these thrifted bamboo needles and I was about ready to GIVE UP. I was so frustrated over my inability to maintain tension, fix mistakes, read knitting patterns, or really do anything intuitively 😂 I thought surely my crochet skills would help me out somehow… but no not really 😅

Alas I persisted because I KNEW I wanted to be a knitter and if I just kept putting in the hours surely my hands would develop some muscle memory and figure it out 😅 So I splurged on the @officialchiaogoo interchangeable needles and WOW turns out I really just needed some metal needles to get me going 😂 if you follow my page, you already know I’ve become obsessed with knitting and it has taken over my life 😂

Swipe for one of my first knit swatches 🤭 I wish I had more pics or examples from that time but I pretty much unraveled everything I tried to make in the beginning lol

More things about me: I still love to crochet and share that on my page as well ☺️ I currently live in the Bay Area, CA with my husband and 1 cat + 1 dog (both named Luna 😅). The main activity that gets me out of the house is hot yoga 🧘‍♀️ I have aspirations to one day get into spinning and sewing but right now I have limited brain capacity for a new hyper fixation 😂

May I present to you… the Cabled Sumac Vest by @moody_knits 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 this was a pleasure to test knit and I’m so happy with the result 🥰 This vest is so thoughtfully constructed with great attention to detail👌 I also learned some new techniques during the process: how to read tick charts and how to do a double knit button band!

Now for the yarn! I used @kelbournewoolens Mojave in the color mauve and it is PERFECT for summer garments. It’s 60/40 cotton/linen so it drapes nicely and has good airflow 🙌 I would definitely use this yarn again!

Happy pattern release day to the Occitanie Top by @celinetteknits 💙💙💙 This design is an absolute work of art and I’m so happy I was able to test it! All the lace motifs were so enjoyable to knit and the attention to detail is A++ 🥰 P.S. there’s an option to add ruffles to the straps if you want 😊

Might be a little late for this but this is prob the first time I’ve had actual plans for my knitting 😂 I’m usually more of a ✨spur-of-the-moment✨ kind of crafter but this time I have yarn in stash with a specific purpose!! I do think these will all be cast on within the next couple months, but don’t ask me when they’ll be finished 😂

When the #gypsophilashawlkal was first announced, I knew immediately which precious single skein I wanted to use!! This is @ruiknits Glimmer (fingering weight, 80% SW extrafine merino wool, 15% nylon, 5% gold stellina) in the colorway “Revel in This” which was exclusively dyed for @stitchandrevel during the @bayareayarncrawl this year (I’m a sucker for exclusive colorways okay 😭😭) The colors remind me of pastel Easter eggs 🪺

I bought the gold ring from @life_is_cozy during the One Skein Knitting book signing 💛 it works perfectly with this shawl 🫶

The Filoli Cowl by @life_is_cozy has gotta be the coziest, squishiest, most luxe accessory I’ve ever made 🙂‍↕️ it’s also really sparked my interest in mosaic knitting! The yarn I used is @valhalla_yarns Cloud Puff (100% superfine cormo) and Weathered Wood (%75 cormo, 25% alpaca) and WOWW was this yarn SO SOFT ☁️☁️ I definitely need more in my life!!

This came as a kit from @fengarifiberarts (which my husband lovingly bought for my birthday during the @bayareayarncrawl this year💕)
