Check out my latest floral piece! This piece was done using @empireinks color set of just 10 colors, plus black and white. I am so pleased with the results. Please let me know what part is your favorite!

Today I started fixing this stupid looking arm so @winslowtattoo doesn’t go to the Emmy’s looking like such ding-dong ever again. This little project isn’t done yet. I plan to blast over a lot more with ornamental blackwork and to continue solid blackwork down more of her forearm. Big improvement already. So glad I don’t have to look at such an awkward patch of skin on my baby sister anymore. Gah!
**None of the other work on her arm was done by me.**

This painting was on my easel for about 2 YEARS! No joke. I did work on it between other paintings, but still! These days you can find it at 60 Main Arts with a collection of my other paintings. It’s a great space- you should go check it out! It’s also the home of @hellbrookink, a tattoo shop, as well as multiple artist studios.

Story time: When we were in Georgia on the 4th of July my kids caught fireflies with their cousins. It was their first time doing this and it was super exciting for them! When it was time to release them my son cried and cried over his new pets that he had to say goodbye to! Since I planned to do a little family painting class the next day I told him we could paint a picture of a firefly to remember them by. He liked this idea but he just wanted me to paint one for him. 🤣 So voila!
⚡️🐞🌌 If you want to paint something similar with me I’m teaching a glowing night scenes class on Thursday 7/30 6-8 at 60 Main Arts. Let me know if you’d like the sign up link! @hellbrookink taken in Jeffersonville, Vermont by @hellbrookink

Join me to paint your very own glowing night scene!

What makes this different than your average paint and sip? You bring your own reference photo so you get to paint exactly what you want!
-a house at night
-a city scene
-a camp fire
-a moonlit landscape
-any other night scene idea that I’m missing!

I’ll teach you my tricks to make it look like your painting is glowing. And if you want to add some actual glow I’ll have some glow-in-the-dark medium you can add at the end.

The details:
Where: 60 Main Arts in Jeffersonville
When: July 30th 6-8 pm

Drop a night emoji 🌚🌙🌟🌛🌠🌖🌃 and I’ll send you the signup details! taken in Jeffersonville, Vermont by @hellbrookink

We work hard to give our best work to each client. We value the time you set aside to be with us and strive to give you our undivided attention during your scheduled visit.

In order to do so we have a strict scheduling process and system.

* All appointments must be made through the link in the bio.
* All appointments require a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit.
* Accepting an appointment offer DOES NOT automatically get you on the schedule.
* Your appointment is only confirmed when you have paid the deposit and received an email and text confirmation via the scheduling system.
* If you are not receiving text reminders in the weeks and days leading up to your appointment, something went wrong and you never made it onto the schedule. Check back in through the link in the bio.
* Do not show up for an appointment if you agreed to an appointment offer, but never received an email or text confirmation (because your reply might not have gone through, check to make sure it didn’t bounce back). The artist is not expecting you and won’t be prepared or able to see you.
* Do not come to the studio to book in person. We do not have time to talk or schedule you while we are working with other clients.
*NEVER SHOW UP TO AN APPOINTMENT EARLY. If you are an early bird, pretend your appointment is a half hour later than it really is, and show up on time, in real life you psycho! Nothing stresses us out more than people showing up early.
*Lastly, if your artist is super accommodating and kind, make sure you tip them when they give you a FREE touch up that you weren’t even scheduled for in the first place, a year and 8 months after you got the tattoo. Have a little more awareness of others and how your entitlement is affecting them. by @hellbrookink

I love painting the finishing details, but 👏You can’t rush them 👏. I always make sure my composition and facial layout are solid, my shadows and layers are finished, and THEN the whiskers are like the cherry on top.

I just finished this one last week- be sure to follow me to see the big reveal very soon!

And if you want to learn more pet portrait painting secrets I’m teaching an in person class on it this Friday! I’ll post the link in my stories or comment if you want more info. @hellbrookink taken in Jeffersonville, Vermont by @hellbrookink
